I was at Joe Nall 2014, and i saw people mostly had a Fms P-51, The color schemes were almost all Tuskegee Airmen, i saw four people with different color schemes, my is the Petie 2nd. I love my FMS P-51D, It's amazing with the prop mod, if you don't know anything with the prop mod for the Fms P51 I would advise looking it up, It amazingly buffs up the performance and speed of the plane, Good luck pilots!
I have the Ridge Runner and am flying it with a 1400 mah and it flies like a dream!!! I have nothing bad to say other than the screws in the landing for the suspension fell out. No big deal. Doesn't seem to affect a thing. This is one of my favorite planes to fly!!!
Nice flyer P51 and looks good also...You have one of the best RC channels on you-tube...I enjoy your video's... from picture quality to information and flying...Fly-ON-Pilot's
Rich, Nothing but outstanding! I have been researching this Bird for some time now. Done pulled the trigger on this one. I just can’t wait for this one to show up. Thanks so much for all your great reviews. You are without question my main research asset.
The key to being a good RC pilot is learning how to put your self in the plane. and lots of hours of flying and repeated takeoff and landings .But you have to want to learn.Don't worry about crashing that is the worst thing you can do.
I just scored a scratch and dent of this model with pretty much all replacement parts :D. I only paid 220-, so I know I got a good deal. I have the Petie the 2nd edition also, but it had it's encounters at the field lol.
Once I get my job this will be the first thing i'll get when I'm coming back to RC flying (Currently got a MPX Acromaster and a Dynam FW 190, but screwed the landing gear on the 190 multiple times so yeah..)
I seen last night it was the 1400. I missed it. They look identical. Can you help me out with some mixing rates? For the 1700? Flap to elevator and ailerons to rudder. a lot don’t answer lol. Just looking for a baseline. Thanks!
Hi Rich, I’ve been watching all your videos. I’m using the carbon Cub for a trainer, but doing as much research as possible for my second plane choice. You have reviewed sooo many of the FMS planes,,, I’m sure some are a better second planes that others. Hoping you might be able to thin the herd and provide me with your recommendations. Although the T-28 isn’t my favorite of the war planes, you seemed to be really impressed by its mild handling, but then again maybe they are all like this. Thanks again for your great videos. Regards
Great video-I really like the changes with the gear sequencing on the main doors and the improved strength. They have also done a nice job cleaning up the usual spaghetti in the fuselage. I do think you could get those passes a little lower ;)
RCINFORMER So there is room to go lower. :) I am building the 1700 Corsair (well its unboxed anyway). This V8 looks so good-I am torn between it and the new P47.
I'm very satisfied with all the performance of this P-51 V8 , but I wonder whether the FMS design a Spitfire in the same scale , especially as there is no similars foam Spits 1400 in the market. Thanks
Seems a bit slow but i guess you can always upgrade the motor. I'm used to the EFX racer and want my first warbird I suppose I can always keep the efx for fast stuff and this could be my slightly more subdued warbird
just ordered mine Rich, looks lovely i have to say. i have been flying my durafy old crow for quiet a while now and never broken a prop it flys so stable. tell me do you always have to take of with flaps, i have never tryed that ?
Hey rich big fan of all your videos. I was curious if you have ever run the fms p51 1450 on 6s. It seems a little underpowered on 4s. Thanks for any info. Keep the great videos coming.
Rich, how are you. I am in Brazil and have accompained most of your documentaries about various planes. About this FMS P51 1450mm do you put some weight in the nose of your model to achieve the correct CG? if so, how much you have done? Thanks, Carlos
+RCINFORMER Well i just purchased this plane and im the same with the CG...Im having a hard time to balance at 110mm from leading edge were the wing meats the fuse. Way tail heavy...im using a 3300mah centered on the tray and on fingers she will tail drop. Please check and help us clarify this issue.
Rich, I am just about ready for my maden. I noted that in your Video you are flying without the Wing Tanks. Does this make any diffrence? With or without.
Hi Yesterday I maiden my p51 1400mm red tail I ran it with a 3300 mah 4s and did not effect the cg much but I need to but a lot of left aileron Trim in as it had a lot of roll did you have this problem, I've check the ailerons in neutral position and they we're spot on ?? Any thoughts would be great. Thanks Steve
Stephen Hutchinson check that your rudder is neutral, it can cause the plane to roll.... also check that your flaps are neutral, if one flap is lower or higher than the other it can cause the plane to roll...if the plane is rolling right, you may need to raise the left flap a bit or lower the right flap to correct the roll...... BUT CHECK THE RUDDER FIRST:)
Don’t think I have one set from memory but I would have to check my radio-If you join one of my livestreams please bring this up and I will check for you🙂
Hi ive recently purchased the FMS V8 p51 mustang red tail and iam going to fly it with a 4s 4200mah, with the suggested cg 110mm it seems slightly tail heavy on your flight demo did you add any weight in the nose.
110 should work great be sure you are measuring it from the correct place. At the leading edge of the wing, where it meets the fuselage. I may have even measured from the seam where the wing joins the fuselage.
Hi thank you for your reply iam sure that's were I measured it from but ill measure it again and let you know how the maiden flight went when we get some decent weather here in England. I also have had a fms 1400mm spitfire wich I done a lot of mods to, ive recently purchased another one but this time I don't realy want to make lots of mods again, I hope to run it on a 4s 3300mah have you had any experience with this model (if you have) what cg did you set it at I think the manual says 100mm from the leading edge.
Hi ive just recently measured the cg for my fms p51 1400 red tail v8 ive taken it by the instructions and by what you told me and its till seem tail heavy ive used a 4s 4200 and a 3300mah and it balances the same with both batterys when you balanced yours for the flight demo did it balance from the black round sticker on the wing as mine balance ok from there but on mine 110mm is just before the round sticker and that's were its tail heavy its even slightly tail heavy with 1oz of lead under the battery tray any advice will be very welcome.
+RCINFORMER Well i just purchased this plane and im the same with the CG...Im having a hard time to balance at 110mm from leading edge were the wing meats the fuse. Rich, I know you are way out there with your skill level but you present this in a way that a beginning intermediate has hope.
thankyou.
This is an easy to fly plane, once you can takeoff and land well, anyone can fly this plane:)

I was in that conga line of RED TAILS:)
Awesome!!!

FMS got it right with this one!
I JUST LOVE THE P 51!!!
Classic Rich “cutting the grass “ Baker 😂 good stuff
Great stuff Rich and i'm pleased someone has actually brought out a Tuskegee airmen paint scheme and with a black pilot. :-)

Thanks for watching....they have made many improvements to the V8...
Rich you have to be the best pilot there is. It flew like it was a part of you.
I want one of those.
Super duper way kool man......

You do some awesome vid's man i really enjoy watching them.
Thanks for the down home reviews. you are always beginning friendling, I enjoying your vids and they are always beginner or intermediate beginning.
Great job Rich.
Cheers mate,
John
Love it...
Foamys just get better and better.
nice video :-)

Thanks Rich. This was a very helpful review. It has helped me to decide to get this plane rather than the eflight mustang.
There is nothing better than the FMS V8 Mustang:)
awesome Rich, going to pick up mine soon
Once I get my job this will be the first thing i'll get when I'm coming back to RC flying (Currently got a MPX Acromaster and a Dynam FW 190, but screwed the landing gear on the 190 multiple times so yeah..)
Amazing control. I just assembled mine. It did not come with a battery tray though.
Did you get the 1700mm P-51?
Yes
@@sambuvca22 ok, you got the bigger and better one. This is the one you got: ua-cam.com/video/BsO33rpb8nM/v-deo.html

I slapped some weeds on several passes! you can hear the left wing snag some weed on one pass:)
RCINFORMER So there is room to go lower. :) I am building the 1700 Corsair (well its unboxed anyway). This V8 looks so good-I am torn between it and the new P47.
Most beautiful plane i have ever seen
Thx for the video..best looking plane at my field.
I'm very satisfied with all the performance of this P-51 V8 , but I wonder whether the FMS design a Spitfire in the same scale , especially as there is no similars foam Spits 1400 in the market. Thanks
+MesFlyST not sure...I just launched a video of the new FMS P-40B.... it is really nice, hopefully they will be relaunching the 1400mm line:)
The drop tanks turned into air soft guns for the wings would be tight.
Seems a bit slow but i guess you can always upgrade the motor. I'm used to the EFX racer and want my first warbird I suppose I can always keep the efx for fast stuff and this could be my slightly more subdued warbird

Brilliant video review as usual. Are you saying that this is the best flying 1400 in the FMS range?
Hey rich big fan of all your videos. I was curious if you have ever run the fms p51 1450 on 6s. It seems a little underpowered on 4s. Thanks for any info. Keep the great videos coming.
I have not. I ran the 4s P-40 on 6s but I put a 460kv motor in it so it would not burn up. It flys quite well!
Rich, how are you. I am in Brazil and have accompained most of your documentaries about various planes. About this FMS P51 1450mm do you put some weight in the nose of your model to achieve the correct CG? if so, how much you have done? Thanks, Carlos
Outstanding video! In your opinion, how does this compare to Freewing's P-51?
Both are similar, but i have not flown the freewing version... However, that after 8 versions of the FMS P-51, the FMS version is bulletproof!
Can you highlight the difference between v7 and v8? I think they look the same, expect the different door sequencer? Thanks!
Does it need to be mix flaps and elevator on this plane

It adds a little drag and may slow it down a bit
Same pic on the 1400 the 1450 and the 1700 model still waiting to get the price on one or is it only one model???:-)
Hi, may I know the maximum battery capacity this allows? For e.g., a 4s 5000mah? Thanks!
I think I used to run a 4000 in it... If a 5000 will fit it should cary the weight
こんなに速くは、飛ばない!4Sでは思ったように飛ばない
Those this use the ec3 connector? That's what i use

what is the flap and elevator mix as there is no mention of this in the manual

@@RCINFORMER Thanks
So you went from Guys to Folks lol
does the v8 come with other paint skims?
Yes, 8 different colors, check at Diamond Hobby or MotionRC
Where can I purchase the V8? even on fms website the latest one is V7..
I think Diamond Hobby or MotionRC has them
can i put Admiral 2600mAh 3S 11.1V 30C LiPo Battery in it
anyone know what is the flight times !
