- 40 series Landcruiser's have been use by many different Defence and Military organisation around the world, In 1983 the ADF (Australian Defence Force) brought in 215 HJ47's which where spec'ed up to Patrol the Northern part of Australia.
With the help from a couple of Australian experts on the ADF HJ47's and the owner of this General Service / Cargo variant I was able to put this Doc together on the history about the short lived service of the 40 series Landcruiser.

FJ40's and FJ45 have also been used by the ADF early in the 70's and 80's with Australian Navy and Air Force, but I have very little information on these so may lead to a second video on the earlier FJ40's and FJ45's if more info can be found.

Dash and steering wheel/column look exactly like my 82 FJ40 here in the states. Even the seats and center console. Way cool!

A few pages on the Cruisers in the book Tuff Truck history of Australian Army Land Rovers. It seems they didn't hang onto them for very long. The registry of ex military Land Rovers website should give you some insight into door markings and tac plates.
Thanks mate, I'll check it out. Yes they did have them long, but that is probably because they brought them at the end of the 40 series life, Toyota went to 70 series only 2 years after the ADF brought the HJ47's
