Ryan Newman was an open wheel racer before he got into nascar (USAC champion!) and Ryan Preece came from modified racing- in fact he’s got a championship or two in his resume.
A few years ago I saw an interview with Chris Economaki. He was making the point that when the factory built Midget cars started showing up, that it killed Midget racing because the race became a parade. The lack of diversity killed the sport. I would make the same point about auto racing, today, in general. NASCAR Cup: All the cars are the same, exactly. BORING. NASCAR Modified: The spec. is so tight the cars are almost the same. A few years ago I would watch the Modified when they were on TV. No more, when I found out that a car owner was fined and had points taken away because in post race inspection it was discovered that his drive shaft material was too thin. That was the last straw for me. F1: The spec. is so tight the cars may as well be the same.... I would like to see some technical diversity like there was years ago. Different engines, cars, tires. Make the teams build their cars. And, most of all, no team can have more than 2 cars. This would let the smaller teams have a chance at the big sponsors. One more thing. When a team has defined the formula they were going to use for their 2 cars, they could not change during the season. No more different car for a different track.
"I wouldn't really want to piss someone off who has spent time i..."
Swipes to block it as well
You gotta love dem modifieds, you never know what’ll happen
It's too bad NASCAR doesn't give them enough attention
@@user-rl7cw9eg8e i know right at one point i thought they shut the modified tour down because i was hearing nothing about it
@@SESKE_5 nbc sports gold... which I don't have
Anyone here after the Cup Series just had almost the exact same pileup happen?
Hey look, it's nascar thunder 04 all over again
This is reminiscing to the 2017 First “parking lot” data 500
Came back for this since it's martinsville modified week on iRacing
Ryan newman has wide shoulders
AND THE BIG ONE HAPPENS BEHIND THEM
This is awesome. Also, as a man from New Hampshire, go Bruins ✊🏻✊🏻✊🏻✊🏻✊🏻
looks like me playing nascar 2005 chase for the cup
POV: you just got a D class license in iRacing
any iracer at modified martinsville 2021 col.
Looks like what happens when I went backwards on Nascar 09
im just gonna pretend that i've never done that
When you turn down the panic_decel in NR2003
That almost sounds like Bob Jenkins in the broadcast booth, who is that?
Some commentator that nobody was a fan of this race
“THE BIG ONE AT MARTINSVILLE”
The track is BLOCKED!!! AHHHHHHH
Since when did this become a NASCAR Heat 5 crash pileup?
Just a precursor to the cup race
I didn’t know cup series regulars Ryan preece and Ryan Newman raced in the Whelen modified series

Fucking Ryan Newman. Every single time.
I watched it in real life
Newman
iRacing is real
Ahh Ryan Newman. If you can’t win in your own series drop down 4 to modifieds and still not win
He retired bc of his engine thats probably why he was going slow btw he qualified second
The big one at Martinsville 😂

Wow 🤦🏻♂️
Oh my god what a mess
Even when he isn't in cup Newman is one of the slowest cars in the field....
He started second and got engine problems
Engine problems means he is still slow right? Whatever the excuse is, my point still stands.
Modifieds belong on dirt not asphalt.
