Is it just me or does it appear that UGA has problems playing outside of the East division? If this is the case they are in for trouble with no more divisions and a tougher schedule. Hope the fan base enjoyed the east while it lasted
Yeah, this whole "29 game win streak" nonsense ain't happening with Divisions going away.
Georgia has been fortunate to play in the SEC East, which has always been little brother to the SEC West.
Definitely the east has been soft since Florida and TN declined. It became one of the easiest divisions in the sport. Georgia still had really good teams, but were never really challenged until late and they couldn't handle it. Even when they won it all, it took 3 receivers going down in two games to seal the deal.

@@daygon128with that logic Georgia fans can complain that we lost the SEC championship because Brock and lad were hurt, and we had two freshman linebackers in. Getting hurt is part of the game, Alabama lost fair and square, and so did Ohio state, and so did we this year.
Georgia has honestly gotten incredibly lucky. In 2021, they won that championship due to Alabama’s injuries. When healthy, Alabama dominated them 42-24. In 2022, they looked like they were about to lose to Ohio State but then Ohio State had a key injury and it was Georgia’s game. Not discrediting Georgia because injuries are apart of the game but these facts should be kept in mind when viewing their back to back championships. Teams sometimes get lucky and win even if they aren’t the better team and that’s exactly what happened.
Advanced metrics indicate Georgia was more consistent and better than both teams. They were favored in both games for a reason. And the 2021 SECCG was way more important for Alabama than Georgia since Alabama had to win to make the CFP while Georgia was in either way. You don’t think it’s flukey that an Alabama team that barely scored on LSU and Auburn scored easily against the best defense in the country in the SECCG? And OSU scored 41 points, don’t think offense was the problem lol.
Imagine winning 29 straight games then lose one game by 3 points to the fucking crimson tide and you’re out of the playoffs.
With how many good teams there were in the top 6-8.. that’s just how it happens. Each game and how you won meant a lot. You guys weren’t going to 3 peat anyways so get over it.

If I remember correctly, Vandy had their fair share of big name upsets that year. They weren’t good enough to do anything, but good enough to pull you down when you weren’t paying attention.

Georgia, to me, got more screwed than FSU. We went from one to six over a three-point loss after winning 29 straight games.

GA lost to BAMA all 3 sec-championship game so yeah 🤷♂️. Winner of that SEC goes into playoff. So BAMA made it to CFP.

Georgia hasn’t beaten a top 10 team on the road since 2018 Kentucky. Their only opportunity since then was at #2 Bama, when they were shut out in the second half. I think their 2 championships need to be viewed with this in mind.
Nah that’s just coping. I get y’all don’t like Georgia, but there is no excuses that will take away the legitimacy of back to back titles. We’ve had many neutral site games against tough opponents. And if you can’t handle our fans showing up, we don’t care.
