That explains how the host's condition deteriorates rapidly after a short amount of time. Basically. Each Dark Picture game is pretty small so "secret endings" are basically small variations that are curious to most players. In this case, we have no idea what he got infected by, some people are saying he got the vampiric infection through the dust but that makes zero sense in every way possible. Nothing about it is similar. So he is infected with god knows what, its interesting as well cause the doctors seem to know about it while we dont. It also seems to be "major", since the trigger for this route is odd: its near the climax of the game, its on a interactable that seems more like a prompt to hear funny dialogue, and its triggered by failing it. There are no hints of it being a major issue, but its effects (coughs) are shown quite a lot of times. For perspective: if you get Nick hurt, he only bleeds the one time, which is when ofc it attracts the vampires, and you basically see no more signs of that wound. Seeing Jason breathe in some alien ash, and have him coughing for the rest of the game till the end, but not die to us, is kinda sus to theory crafters and such.
@@bluewolf7111 Let's just say that Jason got infected by COVID-19 and end it there. Lol. Though, in a way, it kind of makes some sense if it was COVID. It came from bats afterall.

There's a premonition or somthn, a tablet that gives a slight vision of the future that shows someone lighted a lighter and two people burned while a black woman watch it happen. It's the middle stone in collectables.
There’s suppose to be a fourth game. To my understanding there’s a 8 part game series that they’re creating. Man of Medan, little hope, and house of ashes, and the fourth game are apart of series 1. Sometime in the future there’s gonna be a series 2 including 4 more games.
Those don't infect Jason. It's failing the quicktime event when the fossilized entity falls that does. That said, it's still a good idea to avoid them, since it can set off a chase scene and put both Jason and Salim at risk.
It would be scary if you get Jason into situations where he usually gets killed, instead of dying, the vampires take him back to the nest and he gets infected. Then the ending when the characters are shown, the body of the now vampire Jason is in his body bag.
House of ashes is scary in early story then pass mid they nerf the monster and they're not scary or even threatening anymore, well maybe because theyre out of character to kill but yea
The monsters are revealed right as you fall in the sink hole, after that you start seeing them over and over again so it doesn't get as scary each time they appear, the game was still stressful (At least if you use a controller) during those quick time events (if you want the character to survive) and has very action pact fights near the end of the game.
@@kitkup8570 their vision was literally like predator’s. Yeah sound drove them to a specific area/target, but it was futile unless something was moving in their vision. A majority of the actions consisted of “Don’t Move”, hence movement was a bigger factor in Until Dawn.
Does that mean that the vamps are shapeshifters if the original body is preserved in the fluid or what that zombie guy with the body necklace a different person? Also if people are gonna be like this I'd rather them all die than have to go back and be experimented on or captured.
It's two different guys, the characters in the prologue. Depending on your choices, one will become a "vampire" and pursue the player, and the other will be essentially fossilized. My characters were actually switched from this playthrough so the guy with the necklace was fossilized and the guy with the armor was chasing me.
I finished this game for the second time by yesterday and my friend and I did get this ending, although Nick did survive and Salim was there with them. The first time I played, I didn't get this ending yet Jason still survived the whole thing and Salim had returned to his son.
Apart from this video (because it's done on purpose to show us) I'm sure there are people who really touched this thing and didn't manage to dodge it, personally I didn't make that choice and I was right! it was 100% sure that it was dangerous, you don't need to be a mind reader to know that!
How does Jason get infected? Is it when that vampire grabs him when they all fight together that's what I figured but he wasn't sick after I played. Or is it simply not grabbing him out of the way when that creature crumbles
Yeah, if you miss the QTE when the fossilized vampire crumbles, he's knocked off his feet and ends up inhaling the vampire fossil dust. He's probably not going to turn into anything - the vampires are created by parasites - but if anything inhaling that shit definitely gave him a nasty lung infection that probably can't be treated and will be fatal, seeing as they have no way to cure it. It really brings to mind Julia's decompression sickness death in Man of Medan.
@@Treemotan that one mess-up you think will turn out bad but nothing happens for awhile, until you realize at the end it indeed mattered, and now you lost them
This is the ending me and my bf got, I didn’t expect a QuickTime event so Jason got infected, he kept coughing I was worried thinking I killed him (technically they probably all die in the end to keep things hush hush) but as far as the game goes we managed to keep them all alive aha which is our goal each time.
What's with the flex? It's a hard skill check at least on lethal which I was playing. The way you are phrasing this makes it seem like you want Jason to get infected but failed to fail the skill check to infect him. We get it, you're good at video games lmao.
An idea for that mummified warrior that was still alive; if they left him to live, what if the recovery team brought him back? Would they be able to commune with him? Maybe even put him into a computer or something, what would they learn from this doomed man?
You have to not call air support right at the beginning of the game and Salim will be able to sneak away, while the helicopters arrive later and save the americans too.
I really hope they don't come back to any of these stories directly. I don't want to know the endings they got. I like how ambiguously this ended and I'm going to be majorly pissed if some future game mentions all the mains got executed. Makes it kind of pointless that it's a choice game where you can save everyone if they're going to get executed right afterward. Jason met his end during the experiments, the U.S Military attempted to create a biological weapon with the strange thing inside Jason's body, however, the "plague" was somehow leaked during the progress of it, and then the whole world was dragged into hell...then there is House of Ashes 2
Just kidding, I was bored so I typed all these above.
Still good m8
I inhaled a dead vampire it got me high as fuck 🤣🤣
2:31 He's got Infected.
stop cus i accidentally had this happen, he had the bad cough and i thought he was infected and then i looked this up so now im replaying it💀💀💀 i love him too much
No offense but basically the secret ending is the one where salim and hason make it out except the added coughing?
Lmfaoo basically
Yeah its stupid. Not much of an ending in my opinion. I think its just lazy on their part.
@@Eis_ except HoA is in 2003 and Covid-19 appeared in 2019.
I ended up with Jason and Rachel living, getting Salim killed in the house at the last second 😭. I never got anyone infected or even saw any cocoons. Now I guess I’ll have to replay it 😂
They mentioned "winterfold" im guessing that it may suggest that they were talking about until dawn ??????
@Pandisal
Not sure, though this game is supposed to take place about 12 years before the events of Until Dawn so I doubt it.
Nope, that place had another name, plus I dont think Until dawn shares the same universe.
Winterfold is a real place, and the only other hint in the game towards it, is on the map inside Salim's son room, one of the marked places where he wanted to go is near Winterfold.
Probably a hint to the location of the next game...?
@Jasper Reyes Perhaps, though based on the premonition and it’s name, I have heard a few people saying that it could be something inspired by H.H. Holmes.
@@Pathfinder-jk7gh yeah, I dont think its about next game, but it could be about a future game of season 2?
Winterfold is where Salim's son had marked in the map that he has in his room.
Both first two games hinted to next
One ending of Man of median I quote" may we meet in little hope"
Beginning of little hope the house becomes a house of ashes
Maybe this ending is a similar hint to the next one? Jason ‘got the devil in him’
@@viktor.m. Quick question unrelated to this but do silverfish infested blocks naturally spawn
@@limesause1008 good question. I remember updates where they did spawn naturally around the stronghold and thats how you knew you were close to one. I believe they aren’t available anymore though. A silverfish has to infest one for there to be one.
@@viktor.m. Well I play bedrock and my mine is huge as most of it is 4 by 4 besides that I'm mining and I break a block and boom silverfish it scared the shit out of me as at the time I had no armor and I didn't want the strong hole right under my house
There's a premonition or somthn, a tablet that gives a slight vision of the future that shows someone lighted a lighter and two people burned while a black woman watch it happen. It's the middle stone in collectables.
Totally off topic, but I'm glad to see that the true sole survivor for this video was Salim :)
12:39 omg rachel this scene is so funny lmaoooooooo
That's it? That's all we get to see what happens to him? I feel like we got cheated by the game with this one.
I’m getting sequel vibes from the credits scenes
Won’t be. It’s called anthology for a reason
There's a premonition that showed a man with glasses getting burned and a woman reacting to it. Maybe that's a hint for a sequel
@@rinothename5563 There’s always a hint for the next game. It’s not exactly a sequel since it won’t continue this game.
It's just a recall to what they did at the end of Until Dawn
There’s suppose to be a fourth game. To my understanding there’s a 8 part game series that they’re creating. Man of Medan, little hope, and house of ashes, and the fourth game are apart of series 1. Sometime in the future there’s gonna be a series 2 including 4 more games.
I love Jason and Salim
Definitely the best game in the series. Even better than until dawn
I got this ending by accident! It’s so weird to think it’s ‘secret’ 😂
Oof, thank god I didn't fuck up that fossil qte
“I inhaled a dead vampire.”
“got me high as fuck.”
(“Jason- whatever the fuck his last name was”)
Loved this game. Was the best in the trilogy by far
WOWWW. I kept stepping on those. I had a bad feeling and stopped stepping on them and going around. This could’ve been my Jason😭😭😭
Those don't infect Jason. It's failing the quicktime event when the fossilized entity falls that does. That said, it's still a good idea to avoid them, since it can set off a chase scene and put both Jason and Salim at risk.
@@fierysmile2929 okay! Thanks information.
It would be scary if you get Jason into situations where he usually gets killed, instead of dying, the vampires take him back to the nest and he gets infected. Then the ending when the characters are shown, the body of the now vampire Jason is in his body bag.
Get em Jason become Jason Voorhees slaughter the entire base
I've watched a video where Jason amd Salim both survived.
Anyone who likes these type of games should try detroit become human. Its not exactly horror but its got some tense moments
Damn, you just let Nick & Rachel get killed during the QTE huh? 😂
The streamer that i has wachyng had his hands away from the inside that part
12:09 Jason 😥
Hopefully they wont make another sound based monster if they do another monster based story.
The creatures were vampire bats. They use echo location.
@@Nick_DaBoss I know, my point was the other creature was also sound based even if it was very a very different creature.
@@kitkup8570 Wendigo's wasn't sound based... It was movement based...
@@jasperreyes5174 Well it was both, it was more about sound it felt like to me.
@@kitkup8570 their vision was literally like predator’s. Yeah sound drove them to a specific area/target, but it was futile unless something was moving in their vision. A majority of the actions consisted of “Don’t Move”, hence movement was a bigger factor in Until Dawn.
Salim is a strong man~ He can penetrate kelvar like it's made of butter.
Well...yes but kevlar isn't really a good material for blades as the blade can push the fibers apart whereas a bullet doesn't
My characters were actually switched from this playthrough so the guy with the necklace was fossilized and the guy with the armor was chasing me.
i hope jason doesn't transform to them vampires and cause all the chaos in the devil in me he is a very good character doesn't deserve to die :(
I finished this game for the second time by yesterday and my friend and I did get this ending, although Nick did survive and Salim was there with them.
Yup. The qte at 2:40 when the old creature is crumbling determines whether Jason becomes infected or not.
I love this character so much. I wish he will be reused in the next game somehow.
Oh sorry he said he inhaled a dead vampire. That's crazy
Do you have to fail the QTE at the start for that to happen?
no
I think touching it and failing that QTE infects Jason
Yes. As long as you pass the QTE he doesn't inhale the fossils cloud of dust and dosnt start cough immediately after or during the credits.
What's with the flex? It's a hard skill check at least on lethal which I was playing. The way you are phrasing this makes it seem like you want Jason to get infected but failed to fail the skill check to infect him. We get it, you're good at video games lmao.
@@Koi_Swirl i haven't played the game yet, which is why I'm asking. I apologize if my wording gives off somewhat an awkward impression.
Edit: wording
An idea for that mummified warrior that was still alive; if they left him to live, what if the recovery team brought him back? Would they be able to commune with him? Maybe even put him into a computer or something, what would they learn from this doomed man?
How do you get Salim to sneak away at the end?
You have to not call air support right at the beginning of the game and Salim will be able to sneak away, while the helicopters arrive later and save the americans too.
Love the Lovecraftian horror
I really hope they don't come back to any of these stories directly. I don't want to know the endings they got. I like how ambiguously this ended and I'm going to be majorly pissed if some future game mentions all the mains got executed. Makes it kind of pointless that it's a choice game where you can save everyone if they're going to get executed right afterward. (Or locked up forever but I guess I can't complain about that too much).
Don't like how one seemingly nothing QTE changes his whole ending from good to bad
Yo this shit is fire 🔥 this reminds me of the thing... 1 survivor, happy ever after??? Try again he is the new thing... infected maybe a hybrid I want this ending!!! And cannon 🙏🏽🔥🔥🔥
Given that the one who infected him was fossilized it's possible he got the original strand that started the whole species. After all I don't really think those things would normally sit on something like that. So who knows, maybe he could have a different strand of it, just wish we got to see a little more of his fate. They might've said he doesn't have long but what do they know about this infection?
wait what did i miss, when did Jason get infected and why 13:35 only jason got rescued someone please explain
when Jason touched the coccoon/statue, it collapsed. He didn't dodge it so he breathed in the spores from it falling on top of him.
i thought whatever infected the host is afraid of sunlight and he made it back to the surface, so that wont be much of a problem
Yo they may have found a cure by now
just to make you feel better 😁
Bro the serum is the chemical from the first game
This guy plays 20 hours JUST FOR SECRET ENDING sorry sorry BUT STILL
This guy deserve more likes 👍
20 hours?!
Also I didn’t see anything secret about this ending just like 2-3 extra sentences..
Like it’s insane
You can choose episodes you know, right ?
@@ANewGuy_ are you stupid or what? He is not spending 20 hours
My friends told me not to touch it, but I had to y'know

What happened to the others after Jason said that Eric was a good man
died in the final battle with the vampires probably, but apparently salim got alive after the eclipse
in my first game i killed him, honestly i’m happy he didn’t get infected , i would have been worst 🙏🏻
Wait so he got infected and kill all his teammate and this is where they were brought?? Like that???
So we can expect that Jason will turn too? I think he won't be there for long in the sunlight
Thats my Russian, sneaky and deadly
Russian?
jason spreads corona-
In France, I saw this part of the game but it was the Guti instead of the akkadian
Wow some secret ending..
No transformation or worsening of infection, no testing or even questioning it, just some extra coughing ? Wow.... Lame.
You want Daddy jason to die?? Whats wrong with you
ahhh yess the end of the world, i really like that.
Thanks for the spoilers in the title
Did I miss something?
So far these games had nothing to do with the supernatural at all... Maybe in season 2?
Aliens aren't supernatural to you huh...?
@@jasperreyes5174 Aliens are generally considered more part of the science fiction genre, where the supernatural are usually more spiritual or magical in nature.
@@Treemotan Cool... I subscribe to the definition of supernatural that is "meaning beyond nature"... Aliens aren't natural to our world... Technology is basically magical to someone who has never seen anything like it...
Where everyone else at
Where did he get sick??
By failing the QTE (quick time event) he inhaled all the smoke and fumes from the fossil. If he dodged the falling fossil or not touch it at all.. he would’ve have been infected, this was in like the vampires lair thingy just where they lay all their eggs👍
Well rip Jason (I just really wanna de what’s appened after but we can’t >:(…)
