Exactly, my time is worth way more money than a flipping a $100 at this. The hours of time spent trying to set something like this would have me at a major loss.

I have this case with 100,000 PC games and until today I have NEVER been able to play directly from the device, all the games have errors and don't work properly, I have to use external emulators and download the roms from external sites. I want to know why this happens?

IF I had to guess its because you either do not have the correct drive letter changed and/or you did not install all the prerequsite files like direct x, C+, etc.
I would reach out to the company they may have a video or instructions for you.
Is there any HDD out there that features a Philips CDi emulator? It seems like that's always missing.

Yo Drew that system ain't bad but u can't set up a second controller at the start menu it lets u configure player one but not 2' 3' 4 ETC

Takes a very long time to get setup going with working roms. Some don't want the hassle and just want to play and is fine. I am building up a launchbox collection and takes days to get setup.

some games have multiple discs like D for Dreamcast has 4x discs that is why there are 4 of them
I'm having problems getting the sound to work when I play the games, The sound works when the system starts but during individual games nothing. Can someone please give me some advice?
That is usually an issue with DirectX drivers missing. Updating those from the Microsoft DirectX installer generally fixes that issue. It is mentioned in the Retrobat FAQs.
This post is amusing to me in that I have the opposite issue with my old RetroPie NES mini classic case build...no sound till you get in-game...even the clicking disappeared on select screens..no background music silence..once game selected and started the Game ROM plays normal..odd..I found a sound slider setting in the menu but it's set to zero..I move it across but it resets to zero..I gave up...got other builds to occupy myself..I'm late to this video..missed it last year..Mark London England

Interesting package. I agree the PS1 game list seems pretty good at 14k+ games (although lots of dupes or maybe it's multi-disk?). Questionable with the legality of all this of course. Would be nice if they had a game list you can download to see what's available.

RetroBeast Ultimate Unleashed 4TB on ebay seems the best of best, nu duplicates, just got mine and i am stunned by it. 62k total, but no duplicates as stated.

I would say buyer beware on a lot of these pre-installed hard drives, I have missing games on the 3DS section.

If you are interested in a RetroBat setup it would just make more sense to go with the RetroBliss build from Vman at this point. Yeah, its more "work", BUT BUT BUT, their game packs are actually verified with solid metadata and very rare to find dupe fluff.

This Drive Is An Absolute Mess . To say it has tons of Duplicates is a gross Understatement . The bugs and Glitches will have you ready to rage quit . I Deleted Mine Down To 67.000 roms and now disk based roms say they are missing bios files . What kind of messed up Nonsensical Nonsense is that .
The MAME Fold Is The Ultimate Hot Mess Of The Century . Why do I have to scroll past literally hundreds of duplicate nonplayable slot machines to get to an actual arcade game .
I have mixed feelings about this. The upside is that it's plug and play, no effort required. The negatives are that you don't know the quality of the drive, and you have so many duplicate games, which would annoy me. I wouldn't buy it, but I also wouldn't criticize anyone who did.
The hard drive is a Toshiba spinning drive they are decent
@@drewtalks I have had 3 Toshiba drives running between 2-8TB that have all failed me in the last couple years. Even though their warranty return policy is solid it still takes them 3-4 months to give you a prepaid visa debit card and they don't give you the option to have a replacement drive instead. I won't be purchasing any more of them due to that failure rate personally.

@@RETROBAT I would never pay for it. I am using it as my main gaming front end, and it cost me nothing. However, like it or not there is a market for prebuilt drives. I just wish the people putting them together would take the time to do it right.

The amount of worthless games and duplicates of those games is comical. In contrast, a lot of great games are missing, including MAME and Naomi. Same issue with the similar Android versions. Retrobat is great though. That said, even with all the junk, there are a ton of good games. It's only going to perform well, based on the user's system.

I don't think you understand- there is not a whole lot of time invested. These are the same ROMS us old timers have been dumping and downloading/uploading for over 30 years. Someone just took the collection and started to sell it- ilegal to do in most countries but not the country where this is coming from...
