Tough job for sure. Liked to never found those 2 bolts at the top holding the bracket.. One comes out and the other loosened. Make sure all bolts are started back before tightening the bracket as the bolts through the pulley probably won't line up.
There is so fucking little information about fwd vqs. No one gives a fuck at all about them it's like people just trash the fuck out of them. I have the exact same car as you 07 3.5 se. I have to go to 7th gen max (2009-2014) for information and there is still so little. I'm in like 50 Facebook groups as well.
There is another video out there that gives a good run through of most of the job. I was just posting an update advising to loosen the two bolt on the bracket from above.
I removed the reservoir and still don't see how to get at those bolts from the top. What tools were used to loosen those too bolts? Good to know I only have to loosen them anyways. Those two bolts are the only thing keeping me from removing the pump. I regret ever stating this repair. I have a 2014 Maxima it appears that the Murano has the same engine.
They do have the same engine, although the engine compartment is obviously going to be a little bit different. If you are able to access the two bolts from above like I did on the murano, you will just use the same socket and ratchet you used for the lower bolt. Minus any extensions you may have had on there. Also keep in mind you'll be working by feel, because once you stick your arm in there you won't be able to see what you're doing.
@@joshjenkins9537 Thank you. I appreciate the quick response. I just realized from watching other videos that there is a thin cable mounting bracket that has to be removed before you can get at those two bolts. Once that is done access should be much better. This has been a really difficult repair for me. I should have watched more videos before I started the repair as I am only able to pick up a bit of information from each one.
Hey nice video I am about to tackle this pump myself are you saying there is only 4 bolts total to remove the whole pump after loosing belt?? One comes out and two just loosen??
Hi, Can you please give me the part number for steering pump. I also own a Nissan Murano 2013 3.5 SL AWD. Currently facing power steering fluid leak due to the pump failure (is what my mechanic said). Need to procure one here in UAE. Any help is appreciated. Thanks.
No. You can just put the front end in the air and turn the wheel all the way back and forth a few times. Holding for a few seconds at each end of the turn. You continue to do this until it bleeds itself.
i was working on it other day agos cant get from above so i went under vehicle got it pulled off and swapped out it was stupidity ideas engineering that vehicle and they would have put it on top of engine make it super easy access it same goes to alternate and it suck alternator died and have pull whole front end off get to it out there i hate it because lower radiators hose have come off so you can pull alternator out of it if dont have small size socket than cant get bolt out of steeling power pump because not much room in there limits to 2in
No one shows how they took it off on any of these videos, they just show the pump already off. This doesn't do any justice for anyone without any mechanic experience at all.......like geez guys
Thanks. Fightin the same crap 4 hours already. Thank you for your video.

Thank you for your kindness
I did this job on a 2007 Nissan Altima SE 3.5, not an easy task.

What size are the bolts on top
@@joshuaharlin473 I don't recall they were like 13 I believe just be careful to not round anything off take breaks
Just go behind the pulley with a open ended #13 wrench took 5 mins
What 2 bolt are you loosing. Can you point to them?
Yess yuo the 1
Some of use might have liked if you should us what you did, but thank you for the advise 😀

Just did this yesterday on my 09 Maxima.... it sucked!!! I wish I would have seen this because those 2 bolts slowed me down too.

If you have big, fat, hands, don't even try your hand at this job.
There are a total of 6 to remove and 2 more to loosen.
Thank you
I've got the power steering pump loose but can't find last bolt to replace with new power steering pump 2:13
i was wondering if you can just remove the pulley in the pump and how
doesnt work that way if you want to them you ended up taking engine out of vehicle in order to do that just too much work
Easier than an altenator on these 3.5s! Just did one one on an altima

After installing new pump, did you have to vacuum bleed to prevent pump damage?

Nah.... lower rear subframe bolts. 2 bolts. Pump with bracket falls out
Sorry to bother you
you know the size of the top bracket bolts ?
12mm

It’s doable
Who would attempt this without a decent amount of mechanical experience! It would take days lol
