I'm a Visma fan, but seeing Bardet put on yellow in his last Tour gets me so emotional. There's something very right about a French rider in yellow going balls to the wall
I’m always a fan of the one or two riders that just barely beat the peloton to the line
While usually composed and professional it's an absolute delight seeing these machines go to the absolute limit and then some. The grimaces and the heroic victory with the peloton in frame behind them. Love to see Bardet going out on a high note like that. Although I doubt he can make it two in this stacked Tour but let's see.

I was so happy that Roman and Frank did it. Magnificent preformanc especially from young Frank who rode like the wind. Chapeau Frank van den Broek you're an MVP and this was a legendary ride. I bet the end with Roman thanking and pointing to Frank will be immortalized in paintings. What a stage 1 breathtaking 👏👏👏👏👏
My man FVDB (Frank van Den Broek) in the role of super hero, what a day, what a ride, what a finish! Green, White and a red number (most combative) for Frank, Yellow and the stage win for his captain Bardet. Beautifull day 🤗

I had to make a decision between the commentators Bengsch, Eurosport 1 Germany,
and NAß, ARD Germany.
In the end I only watched the last few kilometers on ARD. The lesser horror!

Can someone explain how they decide which of the two riders will take the stage win?
Its between them, older rider got it because it may be his last TDF.
team leader usually, like in this instance
usually predetermined by the team.
Could be a GC Rider or Someone respected in the team thats retiring or even a sprinter. But plans always change in a race.
If you are a great champion, you would give this to the young guy who drove his heart out…..
