hi sir i know it's a bit off topic but on gcse chemistry do you need to memorise common ions? (i mean transition metals) i cant find this answer anywhere, thanks
For the GCSEs, you need to remember that group 1 ions have a +1 charge and group 2 have a +2 charge. Group 6 are -2 and group 7 are -1. You are not expected to remember transition metal ion charges (as transition metal ions can have several different charges). I hope that helps.
