How to DRAWTHE TWO ELEVATIONS for the Grade 12 Civil EGD PAT?
Through this "HowToEGD" video series I support and direct Engineering Graphics and Design learners to successfully HACK THE 2023 EGD CIVIL PAT. I do so by discussing in depth the provided EGD PAT Document, PAT Checklist and PAT Pace Setter.
This video is the NINTH EPISODE in the 2023 - How to Hack your PAT - series for Grade 12 learners.

😀Hi Sir . What is the standard height of the walls?
Hi Bokamoso... for a home, it is between 2400mm and 2700mm. It being a conference center, you could go as high as 3200mm... I used 2900 in my example. All the best, and thank you for sharing the HowToEGD videos with your friends. Blessings
Ok good so I guessed correctly😅 Thank you. It feels like I am the only one in my class that is doing it right!
Hi sir. If possible, can you adopt specifications from university scale architecture into these drawings in terms of real world requirements?
Hi JD. Interesting question... For sure you will be able to...
Good morning sir, the elevations are giving us a hard time . May you please explain again, I am speaking from empangeni high school .
Hi Elimane from Empangeni High School. Good to hear from you. Thank you for your request. Unfortunately I am not able to provide more support without a specific question. My advice is for you to re-watch the specific video and consider the work you did in class when discussing How to Draw elevations from a floor plan. If you have any specific questions, you are welcome to ask them as a new comment! All the best!
Hi, sir. What is the preferred scale for both the perspective drawing?
Hi, thanks for reaching out to me. The elevations should be the same scale as the Floorplan. For help with the scale of the Two Point, please watch Episode 12: ua-cam.com/users/liveqNXH7G6ay9Q?si=mi8ramfrbl6yJ6lP
Sir I'm still struggling with the freehand Floorplan
You can do it on a grid paper it has to be something that matches the scenario, a house that YOU could live in
Hi, please recheck the episode discussing the Freehand Concepts... *NB: Please pay special attention to the last part of the video where I demonstrate the practical steps required plan and draw your first Freehand. You will have to plan your concepts carefully, and most likely, it will take 2-3 draft attempts before you get your first concept. Dont give up - start here: ua-cam.com/video/lMQIWe97jPQ/v-deo.html All the best.
Thank you, Luthuli, for your contribution. Just remember, for the Grade 12 EGD Civil PAT, you are required to design a conference center as specified in the Design Brief... All the best.
@@HowToEGD I'm in grade 11 , but I hope our friend there didn't get misled.
Thank you
I'll try my best
Hi sir. How would you draw a rotating door on a sectional elevation, and do we need to indicate road foundation for the 1.5 meter section of the drive through.if so how would we do that. Thanks for your help sir, really appreciate it. I would not ask this if I couldn't finfmd it anywhere else 😅
Adiy, your question shows great insight and determination to succeed. Well done. In my upcoming episode, I will make sure to address your question more fully. For now, consider how to place the cutting plane in such a way that this section is as simple as possible. Your rotating doorframe will look similar to that of a traditional doorframe without recess. For the road foundation, you can just use the same design as that of the inside concrete floor and specify a "concrete road finish"... Great, all the best with your PAT!
@@HowToEGD thanks a lot for your feedback sir I really appreciate it
