Hi, I am a long-time organic gardener an off-grid homesteader, I am also alone.
When your radishes bloom there will be tiny little skinny seed pods that are absolutely hands down my favorite. I don't even eat radishes anymore I eat the seed pods. When the are really skinny they're not hot but the once they get a little bigger give you some of that radish heat, so you can play around and try the different sizes and see what suits You. I also do this with Chinese cabbage and broccoli when it goes to flowering, and I promise you the flavor of the seedpods is fantastic and the broccoli pods taste just like broccoli I don't even rinse them off I just grazed through the garden on the seed pods. If you like licorice flavor try Thai basil. Chamomile grows like wildweeds when it goes to seed it will come up everywhere so you will be able to pick a whole year's worth of chamomile. I love to let things go to seed you can collect the seed but it's a lot of fun to see what comes up the next season. When carrots go to seed the blooms look like Queen Anne's lace and the bonus is free carrot seeds * 1000. I've grown heirloom dwarf corn for many years because it will start tasseling at just three to four feet tall, the corn cobs are only 4-5inches and so good and sweet I don't even cook them I eat them right in the garden, they grow super-fast so they might be good in your shorter growing season, I like to succession plant them every few weeks. Towards the end of the season I let some of the corn mature on the cobs keeping the paper on them and store the whole thing for seeds for the next season or if you want some corn meal just grind them up! Enjoy!

Great video again! I loved the waterfall-that was gorgeous! Of course, momma & baby moose were cute as well! I hate you're still bothered with those pesky mosquitoes! Your property looks so much better now! I was holding my breath when he was trying to move the trees around the outdoor potty! 😮 It looked like it tilted a little bit, but at least it wasn't destroyed! You & Kenai take care-look forward to each video! 💜🙏

Love the moose and Baby. The property looks great. It's very hard to keep the sapling trees under control. Glad you are expecting visitors yea. I don't have time for lives tried to catch them. Really enjoy the videos :). A green house will help you to get a head start. Go bigger then you think, I regret not going bigger. To late now. Give Kenai a big hug for me 😊.

You are making great progress on your home. Can't wait to see the transformation. I have a battery operated Mosquito Magnet. It works great. A propane tank lasts about a month and requires the mosquito attractant. Each time you change the tank, you have to change the 4 size batteries and the attractant.

I think you really should get a 1000 gallon oil tank. Twice as much as you think you will need. In case the weather is much more severe than normal. Plus, adding the heater in the greenhouse will use more oil than it did in the house because the greenhouse is not insulated. Just suggestions. I always plan for things to use more energy than I think. Anyway, I love all the work you are doing. I really like your holster rig. Any chance you would share the brand of your rig or what that hog leg is that you have in it? I'm a gun guy and love everything gun. Thank you in advance.

Love seeing the moose and her baby, the best I can hope for in New Zealand is spotting a possum or coming across a wild pig, but, we do have some lovely birds which are a real pleasure to hear and see. You are doing a great job on your property. Can't wait to see your greenhouse going up and that would be nice having the oil furnace in there. The baby moose was so cute to watch 😊😊😊😊. You could make a little greenhouse by putting plastic over your little garden spot to extend the season for now till you get your big greenhouse up and going. Plus I am so glad you have a great neighbor 😊. I absolutely love watching your videos and please take care 😘.

It feels so weird to call someone "Alone" lol. I've decided that you look like a Lori to me, so that's my nickname for you. 😊
Anyway, while watching the part about your outhouse, I got to thinking 🤔 Do you have or have you considered a composting toilet? There are brands like Nature's Head but I've also watched folks make their own for very little cost. You could have a little closet made for an indoor toilet, so you don't have to use honey buckets or go outside in the freezing cold of winter.
I am from Colorado, too. I lived in Florissant in Teller County for 23 years. I grew up in Colorado Springs and Florissant is an hour west.
You're living my dream! ❤ Tried to talk hubby into moving to Alaska but he wouldn't go for it. So I'm kinda living vicariously through you 😉 Keep slaying it, Lori! 😉❤
