- Welcome to a Wilds of Eldraine Draft on MTG Arena! In this draft I am joined by special guest Ben Stark, a member of the MTG Hall of Fame and the best drafter in the world (in my opinion)! Ben is a Pro Tour champion, he has won multiple Grand Prix, and he also wrote the iconic article, "Drafting the Hard Way," to help all Magic players get better at draft! 47:10 Since bargaining doubles the damage, you should cast the Bolt for x=1 and leave green up here.
He kinda screwed in both games he lost, dunno why he is so comfortable going that low in life when he can just trade off. Too much what ifs instead of focusing on what's on the board at the moment, nr 1 rule of magic is to deal with immediate threat, not worrying about non existent ones. That game where he had the triples and did not block the 5-4 was such a misplay, worrying about removal spells when even if the opponent had them he should have blocked anyway

Decided to give faeries a try as it was open (something I would have never done before as it's an archetype I'm not very comfortable with) and am currently on a 3-0 streak !

That Sweettooth witch top deck was brutal in game 2, you had em on the ropes
I liked seeing you two discuss the draft and deckbuilding. You had so much to talk about that you kept running out of time on your picks lol.
I don't think Edgewall Inn works with Fell Horseman since it goes to the bottom of it's owner's librairy when it dies. Don't think it would have made a difference though, unfortunately. Tight game.
It can work. You can get horseman back back with Edgewall Inn as long as you activate the Inn while Horseman's death trigger is on the stack.
Haven't seen the game in question yet so maybe they didn't have the mana available at the exact time the horseman died, but since its ability is a trigger and not a replacement effect it does go to the graveyard for a moment before going to the library.
Presumably the ability was designed this way so the knight still triggers "when a creature dies" effects, but it also has the benefit of working with instant speed graveyard recursion.
Insane to me hearing Ben Stark say to play 19 lands/mana while I'm out here getting flooded game after game with 16 - does he have access to some other Arena Algo or something? 😂

1:13:11 Premature concession here. This is a bite, not a fight. Grabby Giant can still chump next turn and you have a lot of fatties to take over the ground in the following turns.
Yeah I feel like he's in the winning position if he chump blocks with the gruff and gets the 6/6

Hey Nicolai, love your content but video fps kicks my OCD in the head, is it possible to turn game graphics settings to low if you didn't try already, it might help the video to look smoothly.

Small misplay, but 46:33 couldn’t you pay 1 to deal 2 damage bc of bargain and then hold open green for the 1 mana grab land or 1 mana create food? Trying to figure out why you chose two there.

I would definitely have picked a couple of Stopgaps here and there, it's hard to go wrong with those, and bouncing the triplets back in your hand and play them again is really mean.
Blue/white is the best if you have everything for it. You heard it here first
