There is literally no way to avoid that wobble when braking from high speeds, without someone designing a fancy future longboard (which they should, it would be sick)
@@lylechipperson3407 motorcycles that are prone to speed wobble have a steering stabilizer on the front end. Awesome Video! My record is 64 mph on "Veteran's Memorial Parkway" in Fountain Hills, Arizona 1999? (confirmed by two different vehicles at two different times) I was running 3 Independent 215mm trucks (I believe those were the widest commercially available trucks at the time) The biggest wheels I could find were 60mm Spitfire (One of which melted off mid-run ha!) and I had just switched bearings to abec7 (I think I was just running abec3s before, around 50 some odd mph)
Noah, Tracker has had a wider, and more stable truck out for decades. Their '184' is as-wide as an Indy 215, because they measure the Hanger, not the Axle. And, any decent Quad-Roller-skate shop could've put you on Hyper Super-Mundo 72mm, 78A wheels back then. "PSR"
congratulations for the speed reached, I don't know what kind of trucks you are using and what set-up you use, but I think woobling depends on the fact that the tracks are too slow, or the rubber tips are too soft. I advise you to keep a maximum of 2 mm difference on these two trucks for these speeds
Wobb Ell indeed! - even when you were cruising at 70+ it looks like you were still fighting a low oscillating wobble. terrifying. surely the more weight you can put over the front truck the less wobbles you may get. at least thats what it feels like when im standup longboarding. must be so difficult to get yourself out of wobbles on a luge
Do you have some kind of cushion of piece for your neck either in your suit, helmet, or on the board? I can only imagine how your neck feels. Awesome ride and footage mate. Thank you for the footage.
Is that a section of road from Blaenau ffestiniog towards Betws-y-coed? I'm sure I was driving there t'other day.. Amazing speed there, well done not dying..
1:33 "Buffeting, buffeting" 😅😂 See, that's exactly why doing this in Switzerland makes sense, because the roads are SO smooth. Doing it in Britain is welcoming trouble. Surprised you didn't hit a pot hole 😝
This is the kind of speed that turns you into a meat crayon upon skidding on the ground... and also a splat if you hit something solid. To think that people on motorbikes go significantly faster than this on Isle of Man is mind boggling.
That speed wobble scared me to death 😂
the wobble comes when braking i think
and how he cool stoped that by pressing more mass to front

Wind resistance increases with the square of velocity (and proportional to the normal area) so at 80 mph the deceleration is quite large.
You are right, there is more air resistance when he sits up, also the Centre of Gravity changed which is why he became unstable
After the trip
