@@sergioumlauf2736 being honest - I dont think so - NaOH is very caustic and corrosive, can cause chemical burns, but it does not damage wood - it is even used to clean woodden floors

Да, и видео не полноценное. Спил надо чем либо накрыть чтоб дождь не вымыло селитру. И потом время от времени смачивать отверстия. Мы так акамуляторной кислотой их отравили. Капала пипеткой, за лето 4 раза, - кислота (быстро впитывается), немного воды, тоже пипеткой. Чтоб на почву не пролилось. Накрыла крышкой, тазиком.

Some say it's ammonium nitrate. It is a fertilizer for agriculture and has a high cost (especially now with the war in Ukraine), and furthermore, it can be used to make explosives (therefore, the compound is sold with certain chemical percentages). In my opinion, however, it is salt (sodium chloride/table salt), a coarse variety, which is used to preserve food. Salt dries any plant and there is no need to make holes in the trunk, just dig a small hole at the base, pour in the salt and cover with the clod of earth. The roots will absorb it and in a short time the plant dies.

I've dumped potassium nitrate into holes drilled in stumps & poured hot water on it. Re-did it 5 times. Let dry. The stump would still not ignite. This doesn't work. Even dead stumps absorb water & wet wood doesn't burn.

Another method to consider , using mushrooms to do it , and on the side of the tree if you had the patience score around the inside of the bark and wait for it to heal a bit then score again keep doing for years till the wound heal with new growth covering.
If that was actually salt pored in to tree holes it will have the reverse effect. Although salt will prevent regrowth. It also acts as a preserve in essence mummifing the stup

Re. the white stuff, it obviously wasn't fertilizer, haha, but, was it sand, fine kitty litter or rock salt, and would pepper help in anyway? or vinegar, who doesn't like salt and vinegar? Re the paint, does it matter what shade of mud color paint you use? It did look a little green, and is it two pack, oil based or water based paint, also, what if I don't have a neighboring tree to paint, will a rock do? One last thing, can I just drill one large hole or is 7 the magic number? How deep do I need to drill, what if the stump is bigger, can I drill more holes or is it 7 larger holes. Damn it man, we need more information, we're all tripping over stumps here.

Turns to sawdust or large soft pieces you can break up with a hammer and shovel away.

The paint/cement/whatever was completely unnecessary, since the tree was already healing over its wound just fine on its own. Whatever you brushed on will now delay the healing.

It takes a while, but rock salt for removing ice from your sidewalk goes in the holes. Rain will melt them. Just add more salt.

I had a fungal problem in my garden and it affected a spot like this. I treated the spot so it wouldn't enclose the fungal infection.
