I think that way but only because I live with a chronic auto-immune illness with a smattering of smaller ones. lol. Why deliberately have someone you may like, live through the crap I already have to deal with. One person rather than two suffering is better. Ha ha.

@@EXG21 when people love each other truly, you share your pain. The tough times are just as precious as the good times. I believe loving and letting ourselves be loved is one of the best things we can do in love, because then the pressure of the world doesn’t seem so heavy

Sean Locke isn't gloomy, he's usually very upbeat. I think it's just the large evil streak he has that comes across as a malevolent dark cloud that some people just mistake for gloom. Otherwise he's quite chipper.

It's romantic now cause they actually got married, but day of I'm sure as hell that was creepy
Back in the day, when I was falling in love with my best friend, I started collecting little items from things we did and movies we saw, in a scrapbook.
I'd write the date and glue a plastic ice-cream-spoon in there. A few pictures were printed, normal selfies from the day at the beach (clothed) or the day we made biscuits.
And I'd write down some quotes of the day, stuff that happened and animals we saw. "A duck fell over" or "we chased a cat into a backyard together and laughed ourselves silly."
I kept doing this for 2-3 years, until he told me to cut it out because it was creepy to him.
Then, we got together after 4 years of friendship (and what Americans would call dating, without going on "dates") and I would collect every receipt we got and every flyer from the museums we visited, in separate little envelopes. This would all be put in a big box, so I could sort it out later. Because I wanted to focus on the "nów."
Given the fact that I spend the whole day collecting literally everything anyway (like elastic bands on the street, buttons on the floor of the train and free gum at the supermarket that I didn't even like to begin with) I thought it was cute. And so, I'd stopped putting his stories into scrapbooks, but I díd write it down in my diary.
Now, I would always put loads of time into bedtime-texts, with poetry about rabbits in the meadows, sniffing in the cold wind and feeling a gust of warm air flying by, realizing that it was a kiss being blown from my house to his house (etc.) Usually he'd answer; 'lol, bye g-nite.'
Four more years into this relationship, he sends me a text for fun, while I sat next to him. I said; 'Don't, my inbox will be full.'
He said; 'Delete some messages then' and I said; 'I don't want to. Some are really nice, like the time you wrote a short poem. Besides, I haven't written down the ones during the recent traintrip.'
He panicked and asked what I meant. I said; 'Didn't I mention? I thought you knew. I write down all the cute texts in my diary. And the silly ones, like when we make a word-joke together or when you tell me what you love about me.'
Without any explanation, he grabbed his phone and started texting me, about 15 separate texts. My phone kept on buzzing and could no longer open messages. I had to delete my existing texts, without checking which ones they were. Some weren't even from him, but from my family. And all the ones I read at night, about my face 'being angelic' and such, had to go too.
I was upset and when he heard I was done deleting them and had 2-3 old texts left, he texted me another 40 or so, with nothing in it.
It took me ages to delete (I had an old phone) and I couldn't read what my mom texted me that evening, I just sat on the edge of the table deleting them, one by one, watching the little bin-emoticon shaking whenever a text was deleted, knowing fully well that I had probably already deleted my favorite texts, some had been 4 years old.

Now, he dumped me half a year later -and Dobby has been a free elf since- but I was just wondering, out of interest, since I'm seeing this conversation happening...was I being creepy for a 15 to 19-year old (and then a 19 to 23 year old during the relationship) Or is this normal behaviour for a weirdo with hoarding-tendencies?
Because his friends at the time, thought it was cute. And I usually used the scrapbooks to remember what kind of gift he'd appreciate, youknow, on his birthday.
But I honestly don't know anybody else this dedicated and I already scared a guy at age 12 when I glued both our faces on a married couple from the newspaper, so I don't know. Please give me your opinion on it. (Just fyi, I am in therapy, so the chance of scaring the next one with scrapbooks, will be small. I've got a bit more selfesteem now.)

Like I screenshot every cute little messages from the guy I liked and save selfies and photos of us, because it honestly brought me so much joy and made my heart feel warm, but even I knew never to show them to anyone, cause I know it can come off as creepy. I think alot of people see hoarding as creepy or crazy tbh.
If I were you, save cute texts and pictures, but just don't tell anyone hahahaha! It would be like hoarding boxes of shoes, you don't go around telling people how you hoard them, not unless you want people telling you that you should throw them out and that it's not healthy.
I know Lucy only from Taskmaster and I didn't know she was married to Jon, so this clip came way out of left field. I actually can't see either of them with a partner, which probably makes them perfect for each other.
I "knew" Lucy before that and always thought she was the reasonable and smart one where Jon was the OCD and goofy one.
But hell was Taskmaster cringe. Like simple things, Lucy.
So sad for them now. Poor Jon, all alone again.

@@hhhaaa4678 Did you ever read his book? Written several years ago (he was still single). If you find his mild comments here depressing, don't read the book. It was one of the most relentlessly depressing things I've ever read. I came to the conclusion that he was acting massively massively more cheerful on TV than he really was. That in reality he's way more depressed and anxious and negative. 8OoTC is a comedy show - he has to act funny, and not truly bring people down. I hope he's happier now than when he wrote that!

TBF to Jonathan Ross, Jon Richardson's humor in part is self depricatiin and he does rely on others to start it off and then dig the hole deeper himself.
I think he mainly says stuff like that to people who he has known a long time and likes, and who have often said worse things about themselves.

Some guys don't need the level of social interaction, number of friends, or unorderly homes 😉 His career is going well, I love his dry humour, and I find the constant attacks on his assumed lack of friends, or sex partners in shows like 8 out of 10 cats etc quite irritating. Not everbody is happy to lead the life of Jimmy Carr, et al. Cheers!

What a rotten thing to say to someone.
They seem secretly very bitter towards each other, esp Jon towards her. Eg when he says "It's quicker if I don't get interrupted" you can feel the bitterness kick love is out the window. And they're constantly challenging what the other says, and griping, and their general nuance to their mood of "(*Sigh* Tell me about it)."
They seem perfect for each other in that they obsess and worry the same amount, but not about the same things.
I think some people genuinely enjoy that kind of dynamic
@@hjt5894 Yeah agreed, my aunt and uncle do and they're the happiest couple I have ever seen. But that of course is anecdotal. Plus they are on TV so they may be playing it up.
