We’re back! Ready to take on the winter & get myself into peak shape in the next few months, I’m excited to share the journey! Thanks for all the love on S1, and to anyone who’s new here I hope you enjoy! TSO S2🔥
Great video. Even though I'm now ex sprint at 63 I'm still interested in the journey. Love seeing how much has and hasn't changed for a full time athlete. Loving the journey. Spikes side down. Speed is everything
Nothing but setbacks for me this year as well Joe Nationals this weekend and I’ve been dealing with a rotator cuff injury for the last couple of months, haven’t been able to use my right arm in training (swimming) But being able to deal with these setbacks is what makes a good athlete
Aha I hear young Louie Hinchcliffe has also joined kiltys training. Well one things for sure the guy sure knows how to start fast, hope it goes well for you all . Richard good luck ,you are a true ambassador for track and field,i look forward to watching you all next season.
Broooo, this is still so motivational for me, this is helping me to reach my goals in that difficult times for my country 🟦🟨 Keep going my man, and i will go in parallel with you
I think your joining Richard Kilty will prove rather fruitful... Praying you stay healthy over the coming months to lay a great foundation moving forward... Best of luck... will be watching every step of the way :)
Great start to series 2. I'd be interested on you telling your back story. How you got into the sport. Why you chose sprinting. Your development through Barnsley AC and beyond.
Great video bro, always enjoy these types of videos, good to see other athletes lifestyles in track and field. I didn't have a great season either last season so I'm hoping we can both see some good results💪
Could we see your workouts? Im trying to make mine myself cause I've always been interested in sprinting. I based some of it on what I've seen you do, and ive been experimenting but idk man its tough
My new programme is tailored to myself so it’s not all necessarily applicable if that makes sense, but I’ll see how much info I can give that will be beneficial and also make sense to everyone!
WOO we back baby just an edit, i wanted to ask your preferred way of getting over an ankle injury. i was playing football about 2 months ago and properly sprained my ankle ( felt a few crunches in it an everything) so i have kept myself from doing sprints or football since, but i still have lingering pain when i try to stretch it out. Should i try and compression aid?
@@SgtSnowballs compression is a good shout, I would get it regularly looked at by a physio to keep it mobile, ankles can lock up if not rehabbed correctly so do your best to keep the surrounding areas loose and do plenty of single leg stability work
This could be a whole video in itself but in short, a lot of consistent hard work over several years. To reach a high level in athletics it takes a long time so you have to be patient
Hey Joe, im a middle distance runner im running 800m up to 1500m (also some 400’s to work on my speed) and my coach is really based on speed and speed endurance so i do a lot of short (short for me 😂) distance repeat in training for exemple 10x80m or 10x100 with 1min30 of rest i still manage to run 12’s (for the 100) but i really struggle in the first 20-30m to really push and reach a good pace i feel like a turtle 🐢😔 I tried doing throwing starts with 5-10m and there I gained almost 1s which is huge for 100m 😅 what would be your advice to improve on the start and the pushing phase ?
Sounds like you’re doing some great work keep it up! Generally speaking you want to be increasing your power for the drive phase so look into incorporating some plyometrics into your routine. I’ll be talking more about how I’m training to improve my “push” in future episodes!
