Absolutely spot on Jamie, I’m 75 and still learning especially from this video! I’ve been fishing since I was 9. I have a 13 year old grandson who’s really into fishing and videos like this will certainly help his progress! I’ve given him some tackle already (mainly pole tackle) but, short videos like this one itemising tackle/rods/line and correct usage will certainly benefit his angling skills…more of them please 👍🏻 Even if it’s an angler that has specific skills and showing different ways of fishing…it would surely benefit anglers of ALL ages…thank you🤞🏻
That was just superb Jamie. I think you covered everything that needed to be addressed. When I was practicing and pushing out to 100m, I remember something you said. Don't think for one second you will break the rod, you wont.
Brilliant video Jamie Listening to you explain things also demonstrates how much engineering goes into the rods and how many compromises there are Needs rigidity in the rod for casting but suppleness when fighting fish Tip choice for distance vs seeing bites etc etc Thanks a million Jamie
Great video Jamie. I don’t cast big distances, but I always cast to my right instead of in front of me. I think it’s because I don’t use my left hand properly. Thanks mate👏👏👏
Great video! Just got myself a NEW matrix aquos ultra c 10ft feeder rod to try out feeder fishing. I’d like to see a video on casting feeders at shorter distances/margins. I’m struggling with accuracy even for short chucks. Any tips/techniques on how best to under arm cast out 10-20m/margins etc. it looks easy… I can confirm it’s not! Can’t fault the kit, the rod is stunning at the price point - I’m definitely the weakest link!
Hi Jamie, i will use this video as a bible, honestly speaking you have explained clearly the topics and i will focus myself on doing cast in the right way. I have only one question for you,if i can, it is related to the casting weight of the rods. The question is, if i have a rod with a casting weight of 60 grams max , in order to let the rod work propertly, i have to consider to use a 40grams feeder (that i think will become 10grams heavier when loaded) or i can reach the limit of 60grams if needed for the distance ? furthermore why some rods does not have casting weight but only the action (medium, medium light, strong) ? thanks in advance
Always plenty of useful information and advice from Jamie Harrison. Very useful video, thank you Matrix and Jamie. 👍🏼👌🏼

Casting bigger feeders... with the added complication of a river would be good
