- Some thoughts on life living in Budapest, Hungary while having a wander around the city on my bicycle. It's a city that I would return back to and think it's a perfect place to live as a remote worker with the high-speed internet, cafe culture and there's a lot to see and do.

That Japanese garden looks lovely ,Budapest looks a nice place especially the spa !!
Yes, the spas are a must visit. I didn't get to one on this trip, but will return to Budapest sometime in the future.
Hello, I was in Budapest a few times I had a flat in Dis. 13, I had my front teeth capped 8 total cost about 100 dollars, I was there for 3 months, the flat was 500 dollars per month.
A fantastic country ❣️❣️❣️
I love Budapest, I hope to be able to return when all this is over! Good memories though!
Thanks a lot Darren. Nice little doc on Budapest. You gave me quite some practical and useful costs. Good luck with your travels and videos to come.
Nice video thanks. Look forward to seeing other cities from you.
From Malaysia with love, I have been to Budapest before!
Yes, its a great city, enjoyed living there last summer. Hoping to be back in Malaysia in early 2020.
Supposed to be going studying there next year. This video has me excited. Also as someone with a general interest in traveling, subscribed!
how was it
Hello Darren,
Nice video. Thanks for taking the time to make it. I previously heard that the younger generation in Hungary are most approachable but sometimes the older gen. are not so you've obviously got you sense and sensitivities radar kit on.
I found the video informative and practical.👍🏼
Hi, yes, the older generation can be a little harsh and rude but you get used to it, the same can be said in most Eastern European countries I feel. Currently in Ukraine and it's pretty much the same there.
Good to see you Darren, all the best
Lior Tepper thanks, Lior. Hope you’re well.
great video mate!
Can't Wait To Visit 🇭🇺 Hungary
This is such a lovey and kind video. Love the zesty accent. Also, I don't know what camera you use but I love the sort of vintage look and colors.
Thank you Benjamin, glad you enjoyed the video and my zesty accent! 😀Love Budapest, will be back!
very wholesome video, thank u

Thank you everything. Sometimes people's mentality is so bad. The Christmas shop is very beautiful. I hope, you will come back.✌
One day I would love to come back, really enjoy Budapest.
fun vid...thanks for the great info...I find cycling to be a great way to explore a place, as long as it's flat!
Chef Buck ha yes, thankfully most of the city is flat but there are some hills that I didn’t take on the bicycle.
I would love to live here again.
have you noticed how all places you visit better condition than uk!
Hah, YES, pretty much everywhere I've been to has better public transport and cheaper cost of living.
Hello Darren, thank you for the video. Could you please tell me in which area was the studio you stayed in? You said you loved it but I missed the name of the district! Thanks
Yes I m so lucky 🍀
Hi. Thank you for this video.
I am planning to live in Budapest soon.
I would greatly appreciate advice on the cheapest & safest studio flat finding places?
How to I ensure secure tenancy, deposit etc?
Thanks again
I’m live in Budapest
Hi Darren ! Thank you sosososo much for your video !!! It helps me tones !!!! Are you still in Budapest? Cause I’m considering moving here !! Thanks!!!! Wish you could have some advice for me if possible!!!
please don't forget meat, veggie, fruit prices are given /kilogramme
(it's still cheap mostly compared to UK tho)
Wonderful
Thank you! Cheers!
@Darren ... Could you elaborate on cheap accommodation ... and do you have any views on hostel accommodation ???
I have only stayed in Airbnb's to be honest, but there are plenty of hotels and hostels in Budapest. I would recommended finding a place to stay on the Pest side of the city as there's more to do there.
Hi Darren Its nice to see places like Budapest. Its not a place on my 'bucket list', but I think its because it hasn't been well publicized as a vacation destination. People like me don't really know what is there to see or do. It's videos like yours that help us better understand why we might enjoy visiting there. Great Job.
LadyInKY thank you. Glad you enjoyed the video. I did quite a few exploring videos of Budapest the first time I visited. This time I was more to focus on work.
👍👍👍
Good to see how your life in Budapest has been. It`s a cify i really want to go to but for some reason. Flights there are not the cheapest from Norway. ( any time of year) I know you have been working a lot with double contract work so having a good place to do that work is essential. Btw that Japanese garden looked nothing like japan :P
Vegard Heyerdahl you would probably be best to fly to somewhere like Prague and take the train to Budapest. You could easily do both cities. The journey is scenic on comfy trains.
Good idea :)
That's not the Chain bridge at 1:40, but the Szabadság (Liberty) bridge
Ahh thank you. Love Budapest, hope to be back someday.
I know you were in a budget and didnt go to eat out that much but here myself I am considering moving to Budapest but I would like to know the availability of being able to eat anything at any time of the day (well at least during the day). Not talking about nice restaurants where if you go alone its kind of weird but more about pizza places, kebabs, small markets, indian food, this type of stuff that you easily find in London for example. And not talking about fast food options like Mcdonalds or Pizza Hut neither.
Lots of this type of food 24/7, well late into the morning.
Welcome
Hey guys, can i live in budapest with 650 euro per month? (all included)
Where did you find your apartment? You've piqued my interest in Budapest now...
I sometimes use Airbnb, sometimes local companies. This place was on Airbnb.
i actually want to see your sticker note project. trying to figure out how to organize i for from multiple cities. i am visual so i thought of doing that. going to follow you on insta under the name eurotopia, cheers!
Lindsay K sadly, the notes had to come down. I need to think of a better way to get my ideas out and keep the content while travelling. It’s tricky! I’ve followed you on Insta :)
Remote Darren hmm i will keep you in mind if i find a good idea
I'll do the same! 😀
Met someone who was living and working in Budapest for about a year, and he said the locals are very rude. Mentioned that to a Taxi driver and he smirked a little.............
They can certainly be abrupt but I find that’s the case with most Eastern European countries. It doesn’t personally bother me but yes if you’re a little sensitive it can be annoying.
@@remotedarren They can look quite glum sometimes, I walk around and the some women stare at me. I can tell they're curious but few seem friendly or approachable, have found some quite respectable once you start talking to them though.
I'm American and can't speak a word of Hungarian. Would that be a problem if I wanted to move there? Also, I'm a single man, what are the GIRLS like??
nice video bro! what are the cons of budapest?
The people can be a bit abrupt and rude 😂 especially the older generation. It’s a beautiful city though.
Remote Darren thanks for replying! overall it’s a clean city though? some central/eastern european cities and capitals i heard can be dumps
Mouad Siaf overall the city is pretty clean, but as soon as you get out of the city center you can see a big difference on the strectures.

Hi bro I am also coming you help me
As cheap as Chiang Mai ?
Would it be a good place for an American to retire ?
Thx for the video !
Hey Charles, I've only been to Chiang Mai for a week, and was there only as a tourist so cannot compare it. With regard to someone to retire in Budapest, it depends what you enjoy to do, and there are so many factors that goes into choosing a place to live, so it wouldn't be right for me to answer. You would need to visit for yourself and see if you enjoy it.
No Hungar, nit so cheap, like Thailand. But cheaper as other west european countries. And the life quality is good.
Wait the Danube flows from Germany to Romania to the Black Sea, not to Ukraine:(((
Yess, BUT one part of Danube delta belongs to Ukraine 😉
👍
The salami is always made of pork ;)
Not always, most of the time but def. not always. We have salamies made of horse, deer etc too.
OK. Ajánlom a Life Living in Budapest, Hungary 2018-as Budapesti UA-cam Videót a UA-cam Csatornán. Budapest. Budapest. Lajos Tóth./Tóth Lajos. UA-cam.
FYI Remote Darren, the Danube is not running to Ukraine. Please check the map before you put false info on youtube :)

Önnek igaza van DE a sràc se mondott rosszat, mert igenis van Duna-àg az Ukrainàban IS. kikötővàros Reni.😄
That's not the Chain bridge....facepalm...
im hungary :)
Great! Love Hungary, especially Budapest. One of my favourite European cities.
Me too!:)

Best way to experience another country. NOT A TOURIST.
As a Hungarian, I would consider the public transport horrible.
It's interesting when people live in a place and they disagree with my opinions on public transport. I suppose, I compare the public transport to back home in England, and it's appalling there, and Budapest is much much better.
Travel more, and you will understand why Darren is right.
Probably because you don't have any other experiences
