Hey Cris! We're glad you enjoyed our Hungarian food tour! The food in Hungary is really delicious, so hearty and rich. The first place we went to was incredible, we loved all the food we had there. We definitely could have gone for a coffee or something hot to go with all those cakes!! They were delish, especially the kremes! Thanks for watching and commenting, see you next meal 😉😊
Making halászlé is not complicated, it just takes a lot of time. You need at least three types of fish! The skin remains on the fillet. Place the sliced onion on the bottom, then the fish head, fins and bone. It must be boiled slowly until the head falls apart. Then ground paprika is added and it boils. The fish fillet goes in after boiling. After the meat is cooked, salt it and it's done. There are many variations, this is just one. I note that the Hungarian catfish (Silurus glanis) is not the same as the African catfish (Pangasius).
Wow, what an amazing video! Loved how you showed such traditional, local Hungarian foods. Those galuska with the paprikas was probably my favourite, it looked so comforting. Hungarian food looks soooo good, putting this on my list of places to visit for sure!
You definitely should! Hungary is a wonderful country and we would recommend visiting it for sure. Budapest is gorgeous and the food so good. We hope you can visit one day :) Thanks for watching and commenting!
Absolutely loved it! Budapest is such a charming city. You made us want to buy a flight :) The food looks rich and delicious, perfect for the cold winters. The gypsy steak and the kremes were to die for. Thanks a lot for sharing your food adventure with us :)
Haha should we all book a flight there together for the summer?? The food is incredible and the city beautiful to explore and walk around. Thanks for your support guys!! 😊😉🧡
Good to see you enjoyed our cuisine. Fishermen soup is best with catfish in my opinion because of the lack of fishbones, but of course it's a matter of taste in the end. Also, that dish for 2890 HUF was a pretty fair price and looked really well made.
I loved this video! It's nice to see that what is an everyday food for us is a special delicacy for others. Next time you visit Budapest, try the following dishes: Jókai bean soup, poppy seed pasta and lecsó! Until then, have a good trip!
Budapest is a city known for its rich history, stunning architecture, and delicious cuisine. Let's explore some local Hungarian dishes and treats. Goulash (Gulyás): Start your culinary journey with a classic Hungarian dish - Goulash. This hearty soup/stew typically consists of meat (often beef), vegetables, and paprika, creating a flavorful and comforting meal. Langos: A popular street food in Hungary, Langos is deep-fried flatbread usually topped with sour cream, garlic, and cheese. It's a savory treat that's both delicious and indulgent. Chimney Cake (Kürtőskalács): For dessert, try Kürtőskalács, a sweet, spiral-shaped pastry. It's made from sweet dough, rolled in sugar and other toppings, then baked until crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. Fisherman's Soup (Halászlé): Since Budapest is situated along the Danube River, don't miss the opportunity to try Fisherman's Soup. It's a spicy fish soup with a rich broth, often featuring various freshwater fish. Töltött Káposzta (Stuffed Cabbage): Experience the flavors of traditional Hungarian comfort food with Töltött Káposzta. It consists of cabbage leaves stuffed with a mixture of meat, rice, and spices, then simmered to perfection. Rakott Krumpli: This is a layered potato casserole with eggs, sausage, and sour cream. It's a hearty and satisfying dish that showcases the influence of different cultures on Hungarian cuisine. Dobos Torte: Finish your meal with a slice of Dobos Torte, a famous Hungarian layer cake. It consists of sponge cake layers with chocolate buttercream and a crunchy caramel top layer. Hungarian Wines: Pair your meals with some Hungarian wines, as the country has a rich tradition of winemaking. Tokaj is particularly renowned for its sweet wines. I hope you enjoy these culinary delights in Budapest!
Budapest looks like a lovely, historical city ! We enjoyed learning about the tasty, delicious food that you sampled while there, especially those yummy pastries 👍😋!

As for the Túró Rudi, there are mutliple flavors, but theres one that i absolutely ADORE. Thats the szilva (plum) flavor. If you go back to Hungary, make sure to try that if you haven't💖
What the drink was is szörp. Wich is fruit syrup made from fruit juice and sugar usually made from raspberry but it can be any fruit. Then the syrup is diluted usually a 1:5 or 1:7 ratio with soda (carbonated mineral water). It is must in many homes but restaurants don't serve it so it is quiet an unknown thing to foreigners. You can found a lot of types of sörp in any grocery stores. In the 1000 years history of hungary nobody ever figured out how to eat a krémes nicely.

Hey guys, hope you had a good time :) Gipsy steak gots its name from a gipsy musician, who was playing the violin in a restaurant and he was always served a steak with garlic&paprika , and the name just stuck afterwards :)

you should have tried the Krémes in the castle district at the Ruszwurm pastry shop, it's the real deal. It was Queen Sissi's favourite place and sweet, founded in 1827.
