BRICS wants to build a new currency. Ultimately, any decision to create a new currency would be subject to numerous economic, political, and logistical considerations.

There must be one stable currency which is backed by real things like gold etc. Because different currencies will not be able to tackle the Dollar. I think one new currency for Bric's nations should be emerged and the new countries that Join Bric's should adopt it
@@MoneyMindshiftsyou actually point at the problem correctly. As for pegging it with real things like gold, it’s not gonna work. The US did that and the French found a way to screw the US with it. So once BRICS currency pegged to gold comes out there will be another France to screw BRICS currency the same way.

It's obvious, India was deceivingly colonised, looted and enslaved for 200 years by the British. UK, US and Europe also sided with Pakistan against India during 1971 where Russia came to aid India which is why India and Russia are long standing allies. China was exploited by the West too. 100 years of humiliation is still fresh in the mind of the Chinese. Hong Kong was colonised until 1997. Both China and India has suffered from the hands of the west and their border conflict is also a setup by the British. Everywhere the British had colonised there are conflicts because the British drew sketcy borders and ensured peace does not prevail in those areas.

The dollar may indeed fall. The key is to build adherence little by little, have productivity targets, well-structured economic plans and, if necessary, cut bad paying countries. As with everything in life, you have to analyze and see what's worth it. The reality is to be prepared for the challenges of the downfall of the financial world. So let's worry today or tomorrow we will have global economic crisis, every penny is gold 😭.

The dollar is so strong. It is a beacon of strength among all the other weak currencies. No wonder it has the position of reserve currency and likely will for centuries. There is so much demand by the world for the US dollar. The dollar is wonderful and a good, solid, wholesome and responsible investment within the Fx.

When currencies are really bad like the Argentine peso, it's extremely hard to even buy dollars for way higher than the value of a dollar on the black market. The dollar is the cleanest shirt in the laundry or the very best poop in the toilet of fiat currencies. Bitcoin is the most solid, but second to that is the good old fashioned dollar that makes the entire world go round economically and is backed by the full faith of the US Government which is the largest and strongest economy on earth. American here. I'm really hoping our next president installs a currency alliance with some of our allies as well if the US dollar continues to decline. The US dollar is still the biggest currency, and BRICS is still VERY far from achieving its status, but with our allies in Europe, Australia, and other continents we can also achieve a similar goal and faster. BRICS has a great idea installing this sort of union, America and its allies just need the right leaders to do it and the right circumstances to persuade it. Our citizens are not our GOVT, and if our currency that supports our families is threatened, there will be something done about it through the voice of the people.

@Wickerick Tolls Well, seeing how most countries including those in BRICS, are and were fully dependent on our exhanges despite not wanting to use our currency, I couldn't disagree more. Our monetary value is dependent on oil, but weve already proven time and time again that oil isnt something we come short of. This dependencey on the Dollar is somewhat of the reason why US citizens and our Military don't have access to certain basic necessities and why our debt ceiling is so high. We essentially, financially, support other countries like Saudi and Brazil. Liberating us from that financial dependency that BRICS and many other countries rely on could actually help us economically isntead of exporting billions of dollar every year to other countries, especially if they're willing to stop being dependent.
If the dollar were to decrease, "BRICS" isn't the first to come up with this ideation as EURO was here before it, and BRICS certainly wouldn't be the last to execute such a plan. When push comes to shove countries especially those of your opposition will find a solution.

Update August 28, 2023. The big BRICS promise (Casually/informally spread about) of a common currency did not materialize. Nor did the gold-backed trading currency alternative. BRICS is increasingly just a PR and support gathering exercise for China. After all enthusiasm, especially that of African youth, comes very cheaply.

Why does this matter? So trade among each other in what ever currency you want? Why is this such a big deal. USA is the largest consumer in the world. This one is Dead on Arrival!! We have already: multiple currency deals within BRICS ie India/Rupee-Russia/Ruble deal; India/Rupee-UAE/Dirham deal; Brazil-Argentina 'Sur' Currency. Then we have the India-China boarder war (notice the recent India-Japan joint military exercises for mutual defense against China, which is supposed to be India's ally in within BRICS2). Africa eagerly awaits the resolution of the border issue between India and China in the spirit of BRICS. Internal hurdles vs. cooperation within BRICKS should be secondary. The primary objective should be to put the US dollar at its proper place by the might of the BRICS currency. The World is tired of one, monolithic order!
