This is a scene from the Elvis Presley movie Kid Galahad and Elvis proves in this scene that his acting skills were phenomenal and far good than what people made them out to be. This scene features Elvis Presley with Gig Young and Joan Blackman. Kid Galahad is a 1962 American musical film starring Elvis Presley as a boxer. It was released by United Artists[3] in August 1962 and opened at #9 at the American box office. Variety ranked it #37 on its list of the top-grossing films of 1962.
Movie Summary-
Fresh out of the military and flat broke, Walter Gulick (Elvis Presley) takes the only job he can find -- as a sparring partner at the local gym. Willy (Gig Young), the owner of the gym, sees potential in Walter as a professional fighter and takes him under his wing. Willy hopes that Walter will earn enough money fighting in the ring to help him pay off his many gambling debts. Walter, on the other hand, hopes that he can earn the attention of Willy's little sister Rose (Joan Blackman).

Elvis was a wonderful, talented actor.
I watched this the other day.
In my opinion, his acting in the sparring and fight scenes in this film were some of his best acting. He completely lost himself to the role in those scenes.
Wow, never seen this scene. Who said Elvis couldn't act? He did marvelous here. He was believable and said his lines excellent in a tough scene to do.
Elvis was a great actor. They never gave him the roles he really wanted
😂😂😂 "cream headed clown..." even in his fury, he still acknowledged Elvis as the suave, handsome man he was. RIP to the king.

I have Kid Galahad dvd and it really is a superb movie. Elvis is a wonderful actor - you feel that you are there in every scene. Am 72 yrs and I just like to watch Elvis in his movies.

Wow, this is fantastic bloody fantastic. Gee that blonde girl is beautiful. She is so pretty so is the other one but I couldn’t see her face as well. Elvis was the best actor I’ve ever seen. It’s a shame he didn’t get to do some really good movies.
Elvis was a very natural actor marvellously convincing. He also played opposite some good actors. Loved Gig Young and Lola Albright too. I think there is added music in this scene.
I do not know how I have not seen this before today, I watch Elvis on UA-cam everyday.
Kid Galahad is my favorite Elvis movie, he was wonderful in it. This scene proves that man could act.

Elvis's accent is not Southern as such. At least not the typical Southern we hear in many parts of Deep South. Maybe I'm wrong.

No don't sell Gig Young short because he was a great actor, and I am impressed that Elvis was on a par with him, and Elvis was so underrated!! That is a great scene.
It's crazy that Elvis called his movies silly. Alot of his movies were great. I think he should've retired from concerts in 1974 and went back to movies. Opened up his own recoding studio for new talent. He went the wrong way in 1974. He started becoming fat, bloated and tired. Then he died.
