Goddamn this is so cool. Probably the best bot I have seen in a reveal video so far. What is that drivetrain? and that arm is just insane. Might have to do frc next year it looks like a lot of fun
FRC robots are so good now, like the robots I actually work with at my job every day are no where near this cool or complex and like, this wasn't even conceived of 2 months ago
I'd assume its because industry has a much bigger emphasis on the other factors that make money, like reliability and longevity, which most FRC robots don't need to prioritize, at least to the degree you might have to at a professional level.
@@luisserranolaguna1610 the 3d printed ones started to wear away on our practice bot so we were scared and swapped it on the competition bot. Practice bot gears held up in the end, just a bit looser
I am far more impressed with robots built by the kids, instead of engineer/manufacturing adult mentors. Might as well become a competition between adults at this level.
Sure, that's cool and all, but it completely defeats the point of FIRST. This wasn't built by the team members, not by the students, but by the mentors, who are more often than not literal engineers by trade. The point of FIRST is not for the team leaders to engineer the best possible robot and then build it and teach the kids how, it's for the kids to BUILD THE ROBOT, and participate in the design and code of the robot as well.
The arm has more functions than mine
i would hope your arm isn’t 5 feet long
How many degrees of freedom would you like?
Orbit: yes
3
A moving limelight is something that I NEVER thought I’d see. Incredible robot!
3339 did it too in 2019
Geez that has a lot… moving limelight, shooter, insane arm, swerve. Great job Orbit!
This might be the coolest thing I've ever seen
Another amazing robot by a world class team, good luck this year!!!
the differential for the wrist and end of the arm is very well done
Looking insanely good, we're in love with your arm design. Good luck from 7576!
Super cool! Reminds me of Rembrandts with a Fanuc arm on the end haha
Bro pulled off one of the cleanest transitions and thought we wouldn’t notice
This is incredibly impressive, that arm is amazing

this robot is my all time favorite... this reveal is fire🔥🔥

This is both very true and a big problem.

I’ve rewatched this so many times
the cut around 0:50 is seamless, great stuff!
Impressive how much orbit got inside the frame perimeter.
I LOVE that compliant claw design. Printed parts can do some amazing things!
i love differential arm movement
HOLY CRAP THAT BOT IS AWESOME
we were going to do a separate system for the cubes but your just going to use a arm only. its pretty good.
Bruh, is that a differentially driven arm/claw stage? That is awesome!
Bruh this one might beat my Roomba ngl
SO MANY degrees of freedom
insane
how did yall predict super charging
They've done it again...
love the arm! wanted to do something similar but my team didnt want it
יון?
OMG SO AMAZING
LETS GO
incredible, i love it!
omg so amazing #the best
omg i'm team #the as well
putting a mini shooter is so damn clever
The BEST
Holy crap!
powder coat it white and gold and you'd convince me this was a 118 bot...

Oh my goodness!!
what are those bevel gears made of
The gears in the video are nylon SLS 3D prints, but we later swapped to anodized aluminum gears

אולי לאיזון במשחק הסיום?

After talking to this team at Worlds, I can be pretty sure this is students' blood, sweat, and tears.
