At age 74, as I lay in my hospital bed at Swedish hospital in Seattle listening to this beautiful song while fighting acute myeloid leukemia, I remember the first time I ever heard it, it was Vietnam in 1970. I have listened to this song thousands of times and I never tire of it and it always puts me at peace.
You'll see him again. He's out there waiting for you. When your time comes he'll be there to greet your arrival. Just imagine the trills you two will experience on the other side together. I wish you all the happiness that life can and will give you for the remainder of the years you have left on this planet whether it be 50 or 100. Take care Judy.

I was 16 in beautiful Paris with the girl I loved. Nights in White Satin is playing and we are slow dancing. I have goose bumps whenever I listen to this immortal song.
I'm 30 years old, didn't grow up hearing this song really, but from a newcomers perspective I really love the "crying" sound effect in the background during the main verse. It sounds so sorrowful. Just like intensely unfilled deep love. Almost living in a state of purgatory. The desire is so strong you can't do anything besides fantasize about her.
+Tampanda They have never been afraid to get behind an emotion, and they always go big. I think because they're so ingenuous that lots of us older dudes keep fondness for the music in the closet. Led Zeppelin, Black Sabbath and Cream [all of whom I love!] could blast through a song, Moody Blues / Justin H. could hold the notes, get to the emotional core of sorrow, pain, loss...and longing, fantasy. Will have to think on it more.
Yup, 75 and yes I still Remember crying to this. Many other of Justin's tunes will bring you there as well. Old, retired, hospice nurse, says you who are waiting to join your husband or wife, significant other, they WILL come to accompany you to Paradise.
Zionists and new world order happen at the end of 90s. Then most of real music died, leaving real musicians reduced to a conglomerate of small few minorities isolated down the depths of obscure underground scenes which are overshadowed today by ignorant disgusting brainwashing pro Zionist media.
Follow "The Daydreamers" They are an amazing new band and they create great music. "I was once a man" and "Paper Child" are some of their best songs. :)
I was too young to be drug infested. My mom used to blair this song on my older sisters stereo all the time when my dad was at work, we come home from school and the house was shaking. She was in her 30's at the time.
Nights in white satin Never reaching the end Letters I've written Never meaning to send Beauty I'd always missed With these eyes before Just what the truth is I can't say any more 'Cause I love you Yes I love you Oh how I love you Gazing at people, some hand in hand Just what I'm going through they can't understand Some try to tell me, thoughts they cannot defend Just what you want to be, you will be in the end And I love you Yes I love you Oh how I love you Oh how I love you Nights in white satin Never reaching the end Letters I've written
[Late Lament - Graeme Edge] Breathe deep the gathering gloom Watch lights fade from every room Bedsitter people Look back and lament Another day's useless Energy spent Impassioned lovers wrestle as one Lonely man cries for love and has none New mother picks up and suckles her son Senior citizens wish they were young Cold hearted orb that rules the night Removes the colours from our sight Red is grey and yellow white But we decide which is right And which is an Illusion?

Me To !!, everytime i hear this song, its direct communication with my beloved late mother Josephine , the finest human being ever put on earth by god Almighty
I'm really pleased that this song is getting a new breath of life for a brand new generation (through its use in advertising), because it is simply so epic, magnificent and full of pathos. I marvel that Heyward wrote this at the tender age of 19!
Everyone always claims the music they grew up on was the best. But, in this case, for sheer "head music" there was NOTHING like the 70's. Especially during the early to mid 70's. Once the Bee Gees came on the scene in the late 70's an into the 80's, that music DOMINATED the clubs and dance music. it had it's place for sure. But, for "head music" NOTHING compared to the early to mid 70's. YOU ARE ABSOLUTELY CORRECT..........ALL OF THAT ERA WAS SHEER MASTERPIECE.
The Nutters Workshop Truly timeless. Even people I know who say they're not into older music get emotional when I put this on. It's just beautiful. They see beyond the era and connect on an emotional level. The plaintive vocal. The strings. The pounding beat like the ocean.
"When you desire only the result, you start trying to take shortcuts... and when you start taking shortcuts, you might start losing sight of the truth. Eventually, you'll lose your motivation too" "I believe the will to seek out the truth is what's important. As long as you have the will to seek it out, then, even if the perp gets away this time, you'll reach your destination in time, won't you? That's because you're seeking it out, don't you agree?" RIP Abbachio
There are no shortcuts. it took me a year to find the truth and I almost killed myself doing it and it took me 3 years to recuperate from it. But it was the experience that made it worth while and a reason to live. People just need to get in touch with themselves because it's all laid out in bits and pieces after the system got through with you. That's what Micks song addresses about the Jigsaw Puzzle.
My daughter who is 30 and lives in Europe heard this song for the 1st time a short while ago. She phoned me and said mom have you ever heard that song. I managed not to laugh
34 years ago, I lost a young friend who was like a younger sister to me, her name was Marian, she was only 20 years old, I cried at her funeral, and through the years I've never forgotten her or her smile or her chestnut red hair..... three months ago I was in the Emergency room, I had left for the night, I wasn't feeling well, the next morning at 5:30 AM I took a drive to check on family, immediately afterwards I became very I'll, to the point where my blood pressure had dropped and I passed bout at the wheel, my car came to rest inside a building, totally destroyed, my sternum fractured, my wrist , ribs, family was notified, but before I passed out I did see something white, and before I came too I felt her presence as if she was guarding me, . a guardian angel....I love you Marian, it wasn't my time but I know now you're waiting for me, this song reminds me so much of you....rest well little sister 💕
Makes sense to me. This song pulls emotions out of you ...you're gonna be the best boy/girlfriend ever with your heart and the way you Interrupt music. Just don't rush it.
Like that I didn't know where you were going.....though I did catch the next train, to arrive a second behind. I used that metaphor, because I think of trains for some reason when I hear this..... And I've never ridden on one. Though my favorite present for Christmas from ages 6--9, was a toy train set. 🚂🚶🎄
For a 16 year old you are pretty world wise. I was perhaps 14 when this song came out and it caused much longing in my heart. Now I;m 68 and we were just discussing it. I thought I was pining for some girl but then settled on 'I probably didn't have a special girl I was yearning for but instead the song just provoked a feeling of angst in me.' I still love songs with an angst edge. It never goes away.
My grandfather used to sing this and play it on his acoustic guitar before he passed away. While we were listening to his recording of this song a hawk flew over everyone. Ever since that day, I see a red finned hawk with 4 black spots on the under side of the wings. I miss you every day Grandpa.
I'm 18 and I am head over heels in love with this song and of course, the Moody Blues......I love modern music more than anything but I can say undoubtedly that no amount of Billie Eilish or Justin Bieber can beat any of these stunning, touching creations
He was only 19 when he wrote this in 1965. The lyrics are so poignant and melancholy and he sings it so passionately. I've not listened to this in years, it really is magnificent and it is strange that at this time in my life it seems to have so much deeper significance.
Beautiful song. I can't believe my grandfather played with them once when they came to KC. I was backstage and the drummer had a huge box of sticks and was grabbing new ones as he was throwing the others in the air. This band is amazing!!!
Not sure how old I was when I heard this first, but my grandad had a cafe and a wurlitzer type of record player and this was played constantly. I still love it.
Because they speak to your soul and probably reflect how deeply you feel. I've had ex's wonder how I could find sad songs beautiful. They always thought I was so strange because of this.
It depends on whether you want to FEEL yourself or not - most people are afraid to touch their feelings, it might hurt - and it does! But it gives more than it hurts in my opinion :)
This brings back so many memories of nights at home. Daddy would turn on his record player and he would play the songs he had listened to when he was a teenager in the '60's. I miss those times in that run-down trailer house in the middle of the country. I can't go back to those times; they don't exist anymore but in my memories. The house is different, the times are different. But dad's record player is still here and so are his records. Next time I head out that way, maybe he'll put some of them on for me and my whole family can be swept back into time where those memories reside.
Thank you Jojo/Araki for showing us such great songs and bands and keeping them alive. Some songs may have their comment sections taken over by Jojo fans, but that`s a good thing really. We appreciate it all.
I didn’t know this song was so old. It has an early 2000’s indie vibe to it that’s why I thought it was released in the 2000’s but it just proves how timeless some music can be.
Touche...we always knew their music was ahead of our time and many said so, including me. How many people get together and discuss popular music and what the writer was trying to convey? I can't see this in recent or present music happening. Yet friends would get together and talk about the music of our day...the Moody Blues were epic in their day, and still are in my book. They are..."timeless".
@@stefroque5152 no you can definitely tell it isn't 50's, the sounds are more complex and mysterious than the soppy love songs Elvis, Sinatra or Jerry Lee Lewis were coming up with in the 50's
One of Rock's All-time great works: The Moody Blues album Nights in White Satin. No one else in the entire world was doing anything quite like this, and ......fortunately for them.......no one else tried.
+Mic Tod™ It just proves that sometimes originality trumps trendiness. Unfortunately today's music is too trendy and originality gets overlooked. I'm an aspiring novelist and have an ebook out. I try to be original in my work as well.
+resignator I'm an old fan of KC and Robt Fripp, and yes, they were just as unique but in an entirely different, advant-garde sort of way. Fripp was not trying to concoct orchestral melodies but something utterly unlike the Moody Blues, or anyone else... (imo).
agree with your comment about the R&R HOF and ask myself that question about alot of Classic Rock bands. I must assume that younger generations have control of the decisions.??
Being born in early 60's, growing up this song always reminded me of my dad because he always had this song playing on the radio. Saw them 3 times in concert. Never forget it being an outside concert it storming for maybe 15minutes lightning and thundering and they were still on stage playing away and I didnt move a muscle. MoodyBlues will live on forever.
I remember an April night in 2005, sitting on my parents deck in Atlanta, and listening to their concert from Chastain Ampitheater. It was as great as the original. Called my son at work so he could listen to it. He was jealous and wouldn't talk to me for a week. Actually, if he didn't have to work that night he would have been sitting on the deck enjoying the concert with me. It is maybe 3 blocks from our house and is a place I used to work at in the summers on concerts and Broadway shows. I am 69 now but the memories of working there and the memories of just listening to amazingly great concerts on our deck, cheating by watching outside the walls of the ampitheater for many concerts and to actually work there are great memories. My boyfriend during my teen years used to call me up late at night and play this to me (along with the poem at the end). Next month we will be celebrating our 50th anniversary. Maybe the song has good vibes.

+Tampanda im 32 and this was a child hood classic! different radio stations :) bless

+MrCoops83 yup!
+Tampanda I did now an old man looking back at a world so changed it is another planet to me.
SUCH AN UNDER RATED GROUP. THEY WERE FANTASTIC . ANYONE OUT THERE AGREE..
Yup,
75 and yes I still Remember crying to this. Many other of Justin's tunes will bring you there as well.
Old, retired, hospice nurse, says you who are waiting to join your husband or wife, significant other, they WILL come to accompany you to Paradise.
I certainly do they were fantastic , none left now all R.I.P. ❤
They were like a golden experience
why can't music be like this again
Music is created by inspiration. No magic in society... No magic in the music...
Political correctness and acid being a lot harder to find.
Zionists and new world order happen at the end of 90s. Then most of real music died, leaving real musicians reduced to a conglomerate of small few minorities isolated down the depths of obscure underground scenes which are overshadowed today by ignorant disgusting brainwashing pro Zionist media.
Follow "The Daydreamers"
They are an amazing new band and they create great music.
"I was once a man" and "Paper Child" are some of their best songs. :)
King Sage will do :)

Nights in white satin
Never reaching the end
Letters I've written
Never meaning to send
Beauty I'd always missed
With these eyes before
Just what the truth is
I can't say any more
'Cause I love you
Yes I love you
Oh how I love you
Gazing at people, some hand in hand
Just what I'm going through they can't understand
Some try to tell me, thoughts they cannot defend
Just what you want to be, you will be in the end
And I love you
Yes I love you
Oh how I love you
Oh how I love you
Nights in white satin
Never reaching the end
Letters I've written
you the real mvp

What about the poem at the end?
[Late Lament - Graeme Edge]
Breathe deep the gathering gloom
Watch lights fade from every room
Bedsitter people Look back and lament
Another day's useless Energy spent
Impassioned lovers wrestle as one
Lonely man cries for love and has none
New mother picks up and suckles her son
Senior citizens wish they were young
Cold hearted orb that rules the night
Removes the colours from our sight
Red is grey and yellow white
But we decide which is right
And which is an Illusion?

I like their music....so beautiful. ❤❤❤❤
I was born 2003 and this is one of my favorite songs ever :) and my cat loved this song.. i listen to it when i really miss him

"When you desire only the result, you start trying to take shortcuts... and when you start taking shortcuts, you might start losing sight of the truth. Eventually, you'll lose your motivation too"
"I believe the will to seek out the truth is what's important. As long as you have the will to seek it out, then, even if the perp gets away this time, you'll reach your destination in time, won't you? That's because you're seeking it out, don't you agree?"
RIP Abbachio
There are no shortcuts. it took me a year to find the truth and I almost killed myself doing it and it took me 3 years to recuperate from it. But it was the experience that made it worth while and a reason to live. People just need to get in touch with themselves because it's all laid out in bits and pieces after the system got through with you. That's what Micks song addresses about the Jigsaw Puzzle.
