FYI, UP 7964 was on the LHH79 "Mont Belvieu Hauler" today. It left Coady Yard in Baytown in the morning, and arrived at Dayton this afternoon. I haven't got the chance to see it yet, but I would assume (or hope) it's going to Englewood or Settegast tomorrow so I can have a better shot at getting it.

And, as a heads up, UP 1996 is coming in tomorrow on the AAMEW. It's leading, and the current ETA at Englewood is about 2 PM. I won't be able to get it coming in, though I'm hoping I'll have a chance to swing by to get a few pics sometime before it leaves. I missed the 7400 yesterday, so I hope I can get this one.

I figured out what the Amtrak Reefers are for. I found some info that said they are IPFX or RWIX reefers hauling potatoes from the SLRG (A shortline) in Colorado to Schoenmann Produce Co. in Pearland. BNSF receives them in Pueblo, CO, where they're taken to Clovis, NM, and tacked on the rear of the Q-CLOPEA.

The K5LLA on the first train was a NF 2PC K5LLA

I heard about it too late, and didn't get a shot. And per a new trace this morning, it's running late, and probably won't get to Englewood until 8 PM.

Yeah, Pearland has BNSF's main Houston area Auto Facility as well.

Great video! Looks like BNSF 7538 busted a ditchlight, and that's pretty weird to see the ex-Amtrak reefers on the back of that intermodal.
I'm guessing they are just being used to ship some produce to Pearland, since I know there are a few grocery supply places there that receive reefers. Since Amtrak does have several of those reefers in LA, that could have been the Q-LACPEA.
And, when QEWWC passed, did he have a restricting at Tower 17, or does the lens on the signal just need to be replaced?

This is literally the THIRD time I've seen a BNSF train give a hornshow at a crossing. Most trains just ignore railfans, which seems to be what BNSF does a lot

As far as a good date for me, I can't say for sure, but it looks like a good day would be maybe the first Saturday in August (8/3), or maybe sometime in the week after that. I'll just have to get a new tripod by then, since my dad and I managed to lose ours after the last railfanning trip! lol

I love the video. I like train 1 the best

I wouldn't think that the signal would have shown lunar, since the uppermost light is used to display a clear, and not restricting. I'd assume the lens is just chipped.
Interesting to here about the steel train. From Colorado? I didn't know they ship steel from there. Going to the Port makes sense. Did you catch the guy's name, by chance?

Well, something with the family came up, so I won't be able to do anything this Saturday. However, I think I'm free the second week in August (8/12-8/16). As far as where I plan on going, I just like to go around all over the place. A lot of the time, I'm going somewhere, and I'll happen to see a train, so I'll go shoot it.
