I have 0303 error code on mom’s caddy. Thought I’d replace plugs (never been done with 75k orig miles). I rocked on 2,4,6,8 and then 1 and 7 with no problems. Then I could not figure out how to get that thing out the way to get to 3 and 5. Awesome video! Wished I had seen it Saturday!! Thanks for posting. I’m hoping it’s a bad plug or coil on 3.
I have an '04 Deville and just got done removing the whole pipe with removing the two nuts at the bottom flange. It was a PITA, but I got it finally. Is this the same as the 04 model? I never thought about taking it off from the top. I wrote good notes on my removal experience and kept it in the glove box for the next change. I have 39,888 miles on my Deville and thought I should do it's first spark plug removal only because I didn't want the plugs to sieze up in the motor for being a 16 yer old car
There is a gasket under the diverter valve, Standard parts number VG216. Have one on hand. They break and flake and may not seal if you reuse it. About $6. I'd replace it every time. Also, because that back coil is such a pain, I'd replace it also. It's worth saving busting knuckles a second time, IMHO. Also, consider modifying the bracket, it is over engineered and if you cut away some on the passenger side of it, it might make it easier to get on that side's nut. I didn't think about it until after i had both nuts started and didn't want to risk dropping them.
Is it an 8mm or 10mm nut? At first I thought, WTH! Then when you separated the two I said, OMG, lol. Now I feel like I can do this by myself without taking it to a mechanic. I need to change out the spark coil for my '02 Deville.
Yeah but where is the base ? That pcs goes attached to a black base that makes it impossible to remove the left screw and I don't see it in your video.
They’re missing the bracket that’s why they both are easy to get to the bracket is what makes it hard to get to the bolts so somebody was already there and did a tuneup previous than these guys
That top little skinny hose that connects to that by his hand.. What is the name for that hose? I broke mine leaning it over and it snapped on me..smh. I need to replace that... Dammit! I don't know the name of it or what it is. I appreciate somebody help
Great info thank you!!!

Thanks so much
I'm going to replace plugs on my 2001 Deville today. Video will be uploaded soon. I bought this car for $375 at a police impound 2 years ago.
I got my 05 for 700 dollars from an old man!
There is no bracket in the way on this one. On most , the bracket covers these nuts easy access. How did you get the bracket off?
You beat me to it! I’ve been meaning to make a video of this style of removal for years but haven’t had another 03 come in for a tuneup!
