- Review of the portable air cooler, the EvaPolar EvaChill.
I live in a small apartment with french windows where I am unable to install an air conditioner or a portable air-conditioner, so this was my best option. My apartment gets insanely hot during the summer, so this was the best option for getting cooler temps within a small space. - Наука та технологія
Thank you! This really helped. Mine didn’t come with instructions, for some odd reason, and this really helped when I couldn’t figure out how to turn the blue light off when I was trying to sleep.
Thanks for touching on the PC subject because thats the main reason why im considering this. To keep my gaming rig cool.
How’s that goin
@@jamesadams934 I used a portable ac unit
Awesome video, just ordered one for my bedroom which is tiny but gets very hot and uncomfortable and I can't get AC. So I've been eyeing off this unit for a bit glad it will help chill me down a bit
What would your honest review of it be? Considering getting one myself
@@joe.whiting02 it works pretty damn well, its best at close range however and it will struggle to cool any real room on its own. but for some night time or day time relief on hot days its been a bloody godsend
You can also get a portable ac if your room has a window to blow out the hot air. This is what i use for my daughter’s bedroom since we dont have central ac. The only drawback is that it drips water (as all ac’s do), so I use a large water container to catch it. But sometimes I forget about it and it spills, and it has ruined the floor but if you have carpet or waterproof laminate flooring, then it should be fine
@@jenydenniseWhat unit do you use?
@@jenydennise do you mean it's a regular AC unit or something like he's showing on this video?
Thanks, great review and presentation! I still think it's a swamp cooler though.
Fair enough!
This *is* a swamp cooler. Swamp coolers are not similar to those mist-making/sprinkling fans you mentioned. The only notable similarity between these and swamp cooling is simply that they both use water to cool an area. However, the specifics are different. The unit mentioned in the video is a swamp cooler, and how it works is very similar to how many other swamp coolers work. Furthermore, I do not think that the material mentioned is accurate to what swamp coolers generally use, which is typically a thin absorbent piece evenly distributed into strips or smaller pieces, not basalt.
What about the replacement filters?
Can we clean it? Mine still blows but I do not see the level of water going down much as a few weeks ago. Tks
Can it cool a car ?
So if it's 100° outside and I put this in my truck will it work? Or what
I sure miss the Homedics MyChill. It was affordable and it had the same concept.
Are you able to unplug it so it runs with no cord or plug?
no - but it can be powered by a portable battery
Given your demoing and air conditioner. Why not use some devise like a thermometer and show what the room temp was and what it is after blowing on it for 20 minutes or something. Maybe even show how it progressively goes down from 5 minutes of use to 10 min…. If you were demoing gorilla glue you would probably show the bonding strength….. anyways, thanks for taking the time to show what it looks like.
How long to change filter?
Not noisy - are you kidding me! It's like a jet! Admittedly on the highest level. I wouldn't go past level 2. The noise is a deal breaker for me.
Great review! Very informative and definitely helped. Only wish you'd mention how long does the filter last but I see it's in the comments already 🙂
I have to say it was good review. I just don't like these coolers that much because the damn filters are expensive.
A swamp does not spray a mist. This is 100% a swamp cooler.
Would it work inside a camping tent?
Buy one and let me know how it works. lol
Is this better than the artic air cooler
Well yea since that's a scam it doesn't even cool a room
so its a swamp cooler, got it.
How much is it?
$100
Weird...I just watched your apartment tour video, and you clearly did have an air conditioner in the window.
Probably broken
This is 100% a swamp cooler. You need to do better research.
It's called a swamp cooler
Basically what I learned is that it's a swamp cooler, and in no way does it work like a regular air conditioner or air purifier. Source: I'm an HVAC professional.
could you advise me some good mobile air coolers/conditioners without exhaust under the 200$ mark? Trying to find a budget AC to cool down the whole apartment in summer, about 700 sq.ft
@@x3ni487 Honestly if you live in a humid part of the country then, "swamp/air coolers" won't do you much good if any since they only really work in desserts. You really need an air conditioner and at that square footage your looking at around 14000 BTU. I just bought a GE window unit for my 660 square foot small house, and I'm satisfied with it, but it costs $500 I believe. Unfortunately I am not aware of any air conditioner that will efficiently cool your square footage at that price.
@@adamcolf4821 Would this mean this product would work very well in AZ? :P I'm looking to use it to cool my gaming room - PC tends to heat up the room by 3-4 degrees when I'm gaming
any idea how much this would cost to run all the time? or kWh monthly?
You didn't use "per se" correctly.
