Makes me appreciate how much love and care Splatoon 3 has for its details/Easter Eggs from Nintendo.
Surprisingly this game isn't even a decade old and has impacted our lifetime.

More on this: The "seven rings" refer to the Japanese "shichirin". This is a kind of Japanese stove that could also be used to cook salmon! The name "shichirin" is quite literally just "seven" (shichi) "rings" (rin).
Back before Splatoon 3 was released, the Squid Research Lab had to slowly feed us news through Twitter posts every so often. One of these Twitter posts displayed the new Emberz brand, but what most English speakers didn't know was that this brand is actually CALLED "Shichirin" in the Japanese version! After this post came out, the Japanese community connected the dots that this was the "fulfillment" of the prophecy and were already theorizing what Big Runs could look like before they were even announced! Before the game was even released!

another neat small world building fact is, if you recon barnacle & dine, Somewhere around player spawn if you wait a bit and listen closely. You can hear the shop theme from Splatsville play in the background.
The seven rings could be seen from Wahoo World despite the great distance but in this Big Run in Um'ami Ruins it looked so much closer that even if you took the time you could see how they were glowing.
That baby jellyfish birthday party is actually in the same spot as the jellyfish wedding in splatoon 1 mahi, really shows the passage of time between games
I love how the story mode seems like just another repeat at the beginning with cuttlefish and the zap fish and Octarians being there and even getting mini zap fishes, and then after you beat DJ Octavio it just flips and all the sudden you realize it’s not at all what we thought it would be
2:19 This makes even more sense when you consider the fact Cuttlefishs body is in a much more realistic form of squid compared to every other squid or octo form in the game. Now it might partially be due to age but keep in mind Cuttlefish couldn't even use his squid form anymore, and isn't it literally shape-shifting so why would it change, all the Inklings and octos have the exact same forms expect octavio, but his tentacles may explain that.
So my theory is that after the crystals and everything else were entirely dried out he devolved back into a normal squid, of course a dead one, but still basically normal.
Another subtle detail I really like is in the Splatsville hub world. If you go to the bottommost floor of the plaza and stand next to those small shops you can’t enter, you’ll hear a music track playing in the background and each one of those little shops has their own unique track.

Something strange about the Marigolds/staffs: If you are at the tableturf war place, going to the lobby there's a space where you can see the recon guide except she isn't there, she just vanished until you get close to that area. So yeah you LITERALLY can't see more than one on screen
It's probably just the way the game loads, but it's fun to. overthink things.
@@shark_girlI mean, there's no reason why the other model can't stay loaded like the other ones. I think the devs very much want us to overthink this. (Side Order please reveal the truth).
Fish lay lots of eggs that are identical. The marigolds in the scroll could be a mafia family that the staff are from. It kind of makes sense
Something I noticed in this past Big Run we had is the "Seven Rings" aren't just shown in Wahoo World. I don't think you could've seen them at Inkblot and I doubt you could see them at Undertow, but at Um'ami I noticed those same "Seven Ring" lights in the distance.

marigold and lil Judd defo have something to do with side order. I’m assuming marigold is gonna be the “boss”, lil Judd is gonna get revenge for salmon run, and you gonna have to work with that one scientist guy also in the scrolls.

I think the same, there is a lot of evidence in the game with clones, like Marigold and Lil Judd, also there is this last character you unlock on the tableturf war which is called "clone jellyfish". Side order must have clones as an important thing.

Mahi-Mahi has a jellyfish birthday party. It’s two adult jellyfish and their two kids, to match up with Splatoon 1’s Mahi-Mahi, which had a jellyfish wedding.
"Big Run is a Biblical prophecy that Splatoon 2 foreshadowed 5 years prior" is a sentence that I did not expect to hear, much less agree with.
Awesome video detailing the little things that a lot of people (like me!) missed! My one question is about Mr. Grizz needing Capn Cuttlefish's brain, I see now that he wanted the liquid crystals, but what did he need them for?
Thank you so much! The liquid crystals were used in the creation of fuzzy ooze, so that’s the best answer I can think up..
Ok thanks, I just wanted to know if there was something I missed in game. Really, it only answers half the question... and like Grizz mentions that he needs a "representative from earth" or something? That whole bit was really confusing to me.

2:36 when octolings touch fuzzy ink they turn into same thing as inklings so propably mr.grizz just created octolings on his own using some sience and that's why there isn't a lot of them

There's only one Marigold
You can see that in Inkopolis Plaza, they are close enough to each other, to see, but when you get close to one, the other disappears
Only one is being shown at a time, meaning they are the same person
You covered the birthday party by the gazebo in mahi mahi, but im kinda sad you didn’t mention the wedding at the same gazebo in splatoon 1. I think that’s the people who got married there’s kid.
