My friend Machado did this track, funny I was talking to him last night. If he would have known the impact this track made miami would have been the birth place to house music.
mauricio martinez I'd love to know what he recorded/sampled/sequenced this with. At the time only a Fairlight or Synclavier could have done it, and it's highly unlikely he just did it by hand as a dj or by editing tape. If so, where did he get access to the Fairlight or Synclavier? Thanks!
mauricio martinez On second thought, he probably did do it by splicing tape and dubbing between reel to reel decks, maybe on a 4 track deck. Would still love to know, if you could get the answers. Thanks!
mauricio martinez I was wondering if you could ask him to id a certain track in the song, first there's space invaders, then the unknown track, then funky town.
Hi Mauricio, would you mind emailing me? We're making a doc on chicago house and id like very much to get in touch with Machado. Many thanks jake@alldayeveryday.com
I hear the donna summer toot toot !! beep beep !!, i hear munich machine"s "get on the funk train",i hear player one's "space invaders" and i hear lipps inc "funky town" but if you listen close their is one more instrumental track in their that i can't id.
there was a video i saw of a deejay playing thi in a bsement in chicago.. maybe it was rahaan? the song ran out.. the crowd keeps clapping and dude mixes it in again and the place goes nuts. would love to find it again.
a bit more background to the 'Space Invaders' track here: www.abc.net.au/radionational/programs/rarecollections/space-invaders-and-the-birth-of-chicago-house/6301186
Can anyone id this portion of "On and on" that comes in at the 1:11 mark, first it's "Space Invaders",this unknown clapping track accompanied by what sounds like a wood block instrument and then "Funky town"
The song that immediately comes to mind and what I would mix in would be Nightflight to Venus, especially the transition to Rasputin. It's the same beat and timing from the late 70's.
You can hear the clapping loud at 7:11 but give the whole thing a listen. Excellent production from the late 70s. I used it as an intro when I started a set. All strobe lights flashing rapidly, fog machine cranked up...glory days ua-cam.com/video/aJVqPWzunwM/v-deo.html
Does anyone know what is the second track in this classic is. I hear player one space invaders, the unknown track, lipps inc funky town and donna summer bad girl. can you help me
Jellybean sampled this record very heavily for his track Toot Toot on the What the Fuk EP on Relief Records back in 1995. So heavily, that I think it could just be called a cover. I think all Jellybean added was an acid line.

Hi Mauricio,
could you please get in touch. I would like to talk about a project in the future.
Thanks

Donald Stone from Catacombs in Philly used to wear us out with this one!
Yes baby, Donald was the man at Catacombs. I wore that dance floor OUT, after midnight until the wee hours of the morning. The legacy lives on.

I know someone was sleeping on that one..lol
I don't hear another track in this
"HELL MOFO YEAH"
What is the date on the record?
Menergy was the root for this song.
Must've gone bck down to a reasonable level as I just got it for £5.
No it wasn't - that came out much years later.
Jesse Saunders On And On many sounds like Menergy
egg or chicken? lol
