I absolutely love this dress!! I know next to nothing about fossils, but my back garden is full of limestone, and I have found several pretty fossils there!!❤️
My degree is in medical illustration and could really see myself getting into fossilcore or some other kind of sciencecore. Or better yet, I need to figure out how to keep anatomy from looking too gory.
I can't name the fossils. I know them, but can't name them, partly in reaction to great-great-great-great grandpa Abel's crates and crates and crates of geological specimens in the attics. And linen cupboards.
@@AJaneiteSews we can't afford to put them in our gardens, mostly because they're covered in little Victorian labels. However, the lava sample was in a Great-Aunt's rockery for a while, before it was commandeered for its original purpose, the plinth for cracking Black Walnuts
An ammonite always makes my heart beat.,.Do you know "la dalle aux ammonites" in France, near Digne? A vertical cliff showing hundreds of ammonites...looks like the cliff gave birth to your outfit....ammonites jumping from rock ,landing on a dress....Thank you for this " instant de grâce"!
I still want to go back out to Calvert Cliffs State Park (MD) to look for fossils in full Regency clothes. I love the embroidered ammonites! I think you're on to something with the Dorset buttons...they really do look fossil-ish!
I love this whole look! The fossil embroidery is just terrific! These kind of mashups- fossils, Regency and cottage-core- make costuming so interesting. Did you make the outer dress as well? Any details on that garment? Pattern? Trim? Or maybe that is your next video?
Just a friendly reminder that Czechoslovakia was dissolved into Czech and Slovak Republics in 1993 😅😅😅. But the dress is absolutely lovely. I love the old timey illustrations the most (not just of fossils, plants are pretty rad too) even though cottagecore as a whole isn't really my thing ;) (I'm a city dweller through and through)
I'd like to get more into fossils and my only nod to fossilcore is some fossil bookends. I love watching documentaries on fossils and Mary Anning. I also have kept part of my sons old rock collection so of which we got while living in America.
I could not love this more and knowing now I have an aesthetic already. I teach 7th grade science, so I get to teach about fossils, dinosaurs, bird evolution, etc. and have the excuse to buy fossils & fossil replicas. Your dinosaur book collection is rather excellent! So happy I found your channel and to add to my costumers watch list. ♥️🦖♥️🦕
"What are men, compared to rocks and mountains?" Mary Bennet, fossilcore enthusiast, circa 1796 ❤️
YES! 😄
I love fossilcore. Trilobites have always been a big favorite of mine. Oh what am I saying, I just love fossils.
Trilobites are so cuuuuute!!! Thank you for embroidering the linen for me!!
I long to stroll along the sea floor eating mud....
😆😆😆
This brings such joy to my nerdy science loving historical clothes wearing heart. I have an ammonite I was gifted. It is beautiful.
Thank you!!! Ammonites are such beautiful and precious things!
I love the idea of fossil core

Ah, yes! Geological specimens do take up a lot of space, which is why I have so many in my garden 😄

Oh my gosh, that is amazing and I simply must go there someday and wear my dress! I will probably cry with happiness! Thanks for sharing!
Love this. Your passion for your work is outstanding. Not many fossils in New Zealand, but have found ammonites and belamites
Thank you!! I’ve not found ammonites in the wild... yet!

Ooooh, yes! I’m planning some Regency geological excursions in the Midwest this summer!!
I’ve always loved opalized ammonites, both because they are pretty and their formation is so cool!
Oh, yes! They are gorgeous!
This is such a great video, it’s everything I needed in a Saturday morning.
Awww, thank you!! I’m glad you enjoyed it! 💚

Thank you! Yes, I have a video on the overdress from this past summer!

Fossil bookends sound awesome! I have some rose quartz bookends-not fossils, but still geology 😄
I love everything about this ❤! I can tell you had a lot of fun making this
Thank you!! I really did, I was chuckling the whole time 😄
This is simply wonderful. I would love to hear about the construction details of the fossil-themed pelisse.
Thank you! I made the overdress last summer, here is the video: ua-cam.com/video/3E8YAwjzk1I/v-deo.html

Oh, excellent!! 7th grade is when I caught the geology bug, and I’ll be forever grateful to my 7th grade science teacher!! 💚 🦕
