The cop who responded to a welfare check after a call came in that a 2-year-old girl might be the victim of abuse ended up adopting the child after her parents were taken into custody following the incident. The Arizona cop said that as they waited for Child Services to show up, they watched the Disney movie Wreck-It Ralph, during which a remarkable bond developed between them. I'm over here living a great life with a great mother, and I have moments when I'm not happy about my own life. I cannot imagine how I'd feel in her situation. It makes me so happy to see how cheerful she was despite the life she lived. I can tell she's going to do great things when she grows up.

By the way, parents who see their own children as "work" or "a heavy chore" have the same issues later with their children. If those children have milder character, they'll become adults and will keep suffering and feeling that they're not good and "worthy" enough they'll always feel as a burden.

Her life would have been tragic to be treated as if she was valueless from such a young age and it wouldn’t have been true but she would’ve believed it for the rest of her life. I remember this story and tears just came down my face. How anyone can harm a small child that can't fight back has to be a monster. She's so adorable and I pray she never remembers the abuse as she gets older. The only thing this baby should remember is being loved and never hurt again.
