Action Bronson x New Balance 1906R "Medusa Azul": Review & On-Feet

- Action Bronson and New Balance have linked up again to release three colourways of the 1906R. After a limited release on his website, on July 12th there was a wider drop which included this "Medusa Azul" colourway. These are crafted out of mesh, with reflective overlays in various tones of blue and tan accents. Tune into my review of this in-demand colourway and leave your opinions down below! Anyone manage to grab these for retail?

Best out the pack, so polarizing, subtle but still loud. I'd maybe put scorpious above these but def not the rosewater (still nice just not medusa).
Couldn’t agree more. I think I like the idea of Rosewater, but it would be something that would turn into an every now and sneaker pair. NB are meant to be worn on the regular.
As always by far the best review that's out there on YT. Love that close up shots, they really help to have a thorough view of the shoe.

I walked into a New Balance boutique an hour before they closed and copped my size! My first Action Bronson NB, thought I’d never get one.

I love them I copped a pair for my daughters the Medusa azuls as it was the easiest to cop and overall most wearable!

I like these but nothing beats the original 990 V6s he did.
Just got these in today and they’re very dope in hand…my favorite out of the pack. I have the black Kith 1906r as well and they have been a staple in my summer rotation. This is a very comfortable shoe 🔥
I was lucky and managed to pick a pair up today instore from END. in London. Was only going in to look at the Nessie Saucony's but saw these on the shelves too. Might end up being an expensive end of the month with the upcoming KITH x Marvel Asics...

Copped both the Rosewater and this pair and can’t wait until I receive it! It’s so unique
Got mine a couple days ago in the mail and these joints are vicious and comfortable.The 1906R’s are the first NB’s I’ve ever had to go up a half size because I have wide feet and I’ve been banging NB’s since the 80’s.
I’m glad you mentioned the build quality because when I got mine I saw the same thing and I thought someone wore them around for little bit 😮
I honestly couldn't believe I won the raffle for these on Kith. When pictures of this collection first went out, this was the pair I wanted most, because I liked the blue shades and it would be most wearable. Typically now I am getting hold of these, I prefer the rosewater 😄
Yessir…was waiting for this upload. Plus need one for the Scorpius too. I copped my three favorite 1906R this year the Scorpius, Salehe Magma and Medusa Azul. Had to pay a pretty penny for the Scorpius and Magmas but definitely worth it.
Edit: Plus I felt they were snug too compared to my other 1906Rs. Was pretty bummed about it…

Heaters for sure. I think the rose waters are pick of the bunch, closely followed my the medusas. Nice pick up!

Great review Sean. I missed out on the raffles and on NB. They don’t seem to be doing too great on the resale market so I may pick them up once the price drops a tad.

I live in Europe, I won the raffle on Specialized in Life and the order is confirmed since then. I contacted the customer service multiple times and they take time saying that they'll sheep soon (they started saying this more than one month ago).
Anyone from Europe with the same issue?
I do like this colorway but can't justify buying another pair just because I like the look. There are just too many other brands and sneaker models to explore, especially now that I'm spending more time in China, the choice here are endless. One thing of note though is my 1906R have a slight outsole separation issue after walking a trade show logging 20K steps, around the medial side of the right shoe. Nothing too serious but I was surprise with this quality issue from NB.

Yeah I hate to admit it but new balance quality has taken a hit the last few years now sadly… very nice pair though. Looking for that scorpius review, best of the pack imo.
I got a size 10 and my other new balances fit me good .. but these ran too snug / tight

I was able to get the rosewater in NB site
Sean I refuse to change laces in a shoe unless the shoe itself comes with multiple sets of laces from which you can choose. If not, I’m stuck with whatever comes with the shoe. That’s just how I am.
Do the Medusa azuls only come with those purple laces, or is there an alternate lace as well. I’m sure you would have mentioned it if there were more lace options, but I wanted to double check. Thank you!

Did you try the FootPatrol 1906s? The colorway is similar but cleaner. I bought them and love them.
I did but FP lost my order lol. Had to buy from ebay so waiting for them now

I don't understand where the bandwagon for most of his horrid sneakers come from. I will say the 990 V6 lapis lazuli were done very well however.
