I've been saying for well over a decade that this is the most underrated band ever. They've been creating incredible music and delivering awesome live shows for years and years.
Saw them at Myrtle Beach HOB sometime in the late 90s. My car wouldn't start after the show and I had to call my wife in Charleston to come get me, but at least I had the memory of the tunes in my head to pass the time. Otherwise, it was a great show!
"Not fans, friends and family" This is what Lajon said to me when I met him. I said to him.. "I'm such a huge fan of your music and you are such an amazing singer and I love your new Album Home even better than your Debut" He said.... "You're not a fan, you're my brother, my friend, my family and we don't shake hands" He then showed me a tattoo of a sun he has on his hand which he said represents his fans and how much he loves them and he then proceeded to take my hand and he grasped it instead of shaking it and said this is how brothers shake hands and he hugged me while doing it. It made me feel so welcomed and loved and it made me appreciate his music and words even more. Even thinking about it to this day gives me goosebumps. Not too long after talking to him I was walking by a fence and guess who I saw talking on a cellphone to his GF? MORGAN! He straight up said to Rayna that he had to go because he wanted to say hi to a fan, which was so cool of him. He told me he just got off the phone with her to say hi to me and I said to him, "isn't Coal Chamber supposed to be here today?" He said..... "YEAH! BUT DEZ IS A FUCKING DICK!!!!" I said, "Really, WHY?" He said... 'BECAUSE HE TREATS RAYNA LIKE SHIT!" HHAHAHAHAHA Morgan doesn't give a fuck and it made me die laughing. Both of them were awesome people to meet and would love to meet them again. Love how they are polar opposites of each other.
He's such a great guy. I remember I saw them in Sydney, they were headlining for my friends band Horrorwood Mannequins and after the show I was having a cigarette with the singer of mannequins and I saw Lajon and just dropped everything to run over and say hey. He gave me a massive hug but his security was like "Come on, we gotta go." Was amazing. Didn't expect to meet him let alone him to have time to actually say hey to me. Its one of my best memories.
I pray to meet him some day. I connect with that dude on a vocal level like non-other! My mom passing has a major part in that. Pain brings out so much color.
Travis Riddle - I still remember an album review back in the day by some douchebag at Rolling Stone magazine who basically said they were a subpar knockoff of Godsmack. Can u frickin believe that?? Dude for 1- I wish I could throat punch u. 2- u have no universal idea of what ur talking about. They're 2 COMPLETELY different sounding bands. 3- Sevendust absolutely destroys & wipes the floor with Godsmack. And 4- u FULLY missed the beauty of an amazingly underrated artist of the last two decades. I've never been a reader of Rolling Stone since...
Witnessed from stage side what some may consider their introduction to the world, AkA, as their legendary Woodstock 99 set. Was working personal security for a performer back stage and he was saying " we got some down time, come with me to check out this band Sevendust."
I disagree for one reason... the acoustic love version of ANGELS SON is a powerhouse song. And the reason behind it really drives that fact home for me
This band is the real deal! Sevendust rocks just as hard acoustic as they do electric. It's cool to have a pit even at the acoustic shows. One of the best bands I've ever had the chance to see.
Been to at least 15 Sevendust shows, own the Animosity album, South-Side Double Wide Album so I've heard this song tons of times. One of my favs by them. Saw and heard this and my jaw dropped. Unbelievable artists and musicians.
Lajon is a legend. I've had friends tour with him or simply just being fans and never heard a bad thing about him. One of the best singers live Ive ever heard too!
I've seen these guys live 8 times, and the acoustic tour was probably favorite show. went to the ambassador hotel with Vinnie and Morgan after the show and drank til they kicked us out at 3 or 4 am. real down to earth guys that love their craft and truly appreciate the fans that support them.
I saw the acoustic tour at the machineshop in flint MI. I was front row dead center and lj have me the micrograms to sing the chorus for black. Then we hung out and talked for like 20 minutes after the show
I had the privilege of meeting sevendust in Afghanistan in 2008. They were great, and they played a well put together acoustic show. It made my 9 months there not seem as bad.
Met and spent time talking to lj at tattoo the earth about 20 years ago and he is probably one of the best people i have ever met in my life humble down to earth incredible singer, spending time with him and Derrick green of sepultura that day was definitely a highlight in my life
I started back in 97 n haven’t stopped, Sevendust my favorite band. I seen them the most. No doubt there’s a bunch of other bands, music I luv, like, Sevendust there’s something. I never met them yet seems like we’ve been friends forever, 🤷♂️ as there’s connections to songs but there’s this extra presence with Sevendust I feel. Great song along with many others 🤘
The good people at MetalSucks have an EXCLUSIVE sneak peek at an acoustic performance of "Trust" from our recent podcast with Sevendust. www.metalsucks.net/2014/05/23/exclusive-video-premiere-sevendusts-acoustic-performance-trust/
I'm not even a huge Sevendust fan, I tend to prefer more Punk and Funk Metal when it comes to the "heavier" music I listen to, so ofc I discovered them because of my Snot fandom and I love their acoustic stuff.....
I hail form the days of 503 concert at the Metro in chicago. Yes, I was one of the 3 extra :) ive loved there music since then. Jay Jay you were awesome to us to kids man.
Best live performers I've seen. Hands down. The interaction with the normies before/during/after their set. I've met Lajon several times when bc he will hang in the crowd. I buy tix for headliners sometimes just to see sevendust opening and then leave before the main event. They are THAT good
I see them at Eartha birthday in Orlando Florida so many times and the New Year's concert there such deep great great content I love it and I read some comments like you said they did all this I've been listening to him since I can remember 1996 and one of the best absolutely
Such an epically great group. From instruments to vocals, this band is just amazing. Can't believe I have been following them for 20 years. Love this band!
Hands down most underrated band. All of them together. Not when clint left, you couldn't feel the same music. Thank God he came back. And by the way, clints voice is as underrated as the band itself. His live acoustic version of "hurt" is epic, even though he biffed the words in the last verse 🤣. As a musician, it happens. Sevendust forever, got me through so many hard and happy times
I just wanted to add my love for this band also. I have been a fan since the first album and have always thought they were one of the best. They continue to make awesome music after all these years.

Hey man, I know this comment is 3 years old but I totally agree.
I discovered this band on Smackdown Vs. Raw ‘07 hearing the song Driven and fell in love with this band, no homo.
agree 100%
Lajon has one of the greatest rock voices in history. This band has never let me down in the 17 years I have been listening to them.
Yup them and The Deftones have stood the test of time for me being a teenager in the late 90's.

LJ best singer ever to touch a mic in metal in my opinion I still dont get why the band is so underrated I don't understand.

Travis Riddle this isn’t even his best work and he still sounds good but no, he’s got a lot of competition. M. Shadows of A7X might have him beat
