This was so magical. The smaller Christmas markets bring a very special kind of charm. The church was also beautiful. I truly enjoy this kind of Vlogs. I’m heading to Bolzano next week. Also a part of Italy with German and Austrian influence. In fact it’s so much more German than Italian the last time I noticed when I was there. Enjoy Germany both of you. I really need to visit Leipzig during the Christmas Market; it's beautiful. Leipzig is an awesome city as it is, but I love the Christmas feel. Hey as soneone from Leipzig with an Cajun fiance i can give the information that Essentismaly Kräppelchdmen are the same as french / cajun bingets there might be small recepie differences but essentialy as i said its the same thing 😅 so if kräppelchen is to hard to pronounce just call em bingets

Ah ... home sweet home. How did I miss this video for a month?!? Mendelsohn really is to credit for bringing back Bach. He also founded the Leipzig Music College in 1843, making it the oldest such institution in Germany. You showed the monument of him for a second. Fun fact: That monument is a replica. The original was torn down by the Nazis cause - you guessed it - Mendelsohn was jewish. The order to remove it was given by a deputy mayor in the abscence of Leipzig's actual mayor Carl Goerdeler, who resigned in protest and later joinded the conservative/military branch of the german restitance, being involved in the plot of July 20th 1944 and would have become german president in a planned post-Nazi government. "Barefoot lane". Weird name, right? It's named after a monastery that was located there in the middle ages. The munks were apparently walking around with bare feet. For some reason... Kräppelchen means nothing but Kräppelchen. No hidden meaning there. 😊 Similar things exist in most of Germany I believe, the names can differ extremely though.
