- In this clip i take you through the steps of balancing rc helicopter rotor blades,
firstly we find the C of G and then we balance the overall mass of the blades based around the C of G to achive a perfectly balanced set of blades.
My Trex 550X has always had a notcable vibration around low head speed and and this is now sorted thanks to some simple tape and balancing,

Hi Dan, just subbed. Thanks for a great vid! I happened upon it and figured give it a look see. Glad I did. I need to order that see saw tool and get to work! I've been flying helis for a couple of years and am finally building my first 760. Seems I definitely need to add this to the build process. I have never tried to learn this for my little 330mm heli. It didn't seem important. I'm looking forward to a smoother running machine. Fingers crossed! Best regards sir!

The blades should be opposite to each other on the seesaw,and the tape should be folded over the leading edge equal both sides.so it dont peel off.

Excellent tutorial Dan. I remember the days when we had to add lead weight to wooden blades then do all this stuff. As good as CF blades are, there is always a chance there may be a need to do this procedure for perfect balance to eliminate all vibrations.
I am also curious about the new blades from Azure. My flying style will be (not there yet) the same as yours. Perhaps you could do a vid showing how they work on your bird and your impressions? thanks again! 👍 btw: very hard to find this balancer stateside. Either out of stock or discontinued online. Really don't want to spend $100 on the Koll rotor pro. 🤔

Nice video, and a almost correct how to.
But the tape shoud br folded over the leading edge.
The tape wil stick better, and the air resistence will not peel it off.
When placed flat on ether surface, it will get torn off by time and air speed.
This is super sticky stuff, put 8 packs through the heli today and it's still in place 🤔, but yes I see your point cheers for the comment

HELLO 🤝 HOW HARD TO TIGHTEN HELICOPTER BLADES?
Don't use tape. Use clear gorilla/shoe goop instead. Looks way cleaner and will stay on forever exactly where it is placed.
But you forgot the most critical thing... weight them
Now if cg is off how do you fix that??
Move the pack backwards order forward, shouldn't take much movement

Well that was about 20 minutes longer than it needed to be.
