You indicate that you recommend placing the heads on the “inside” on the side brackets, I’d say this is incorrect…on original bomber seats, the harness worn parachute served as a seat cushion, in this case, since you’re not wearing a parachute while driving, you should place a cushion of some type in the seat and back, and that cushion would hide the finished head that you’re recommending putting on the inside…put the finished head on the outside of the seat where you’ll actually see it and have the smashed portion hidden by your cushion…as you instruct, the smashed portion of the rivet will be on the outside or viewed part of the seat.
