I did not know this program. I always use sketchup for my projects. thanks for sharing this!

I have tried to use sketchup Chris but just never could get it working the way I wanted. Although fusion has a high learning curve I think it is too late to turn back. I have to keep learning it - Paul helped me to learn a little bit more now.

Chris Fusion 360 is a great program to use for 3D printing. Although the learning curve is tough there are lots of helpful videos on UA-cam. Don't give up, this program does a lot. Thanks for watching and the comment.

I'm very new to F360, but I think another way is to use the 'Project onto surface' tool. This will project your 2d sketch onto your 3d surface.

wforl, I tried what you suggested (a great idea by the way) but couldn't achieve the same results. If I am missing something i would appreciate your input...I would love to do an "update" video to show your method. If you could elaborate here or email me at paulsmessyworkshop@gmail.com and let me know what I might be missing I would appreciate it. Thanks for watching and the great suggestion.

Great video. There is a faster way though. Draw your sphere and your sketch. Then when EXTRUDING, click the START and select FROM OBJECT. Extrude out and you are done.

Robert, I tried to do that originally but there is a chance I did something wrong. I couldn't get the extrusion to follow the shape of the sphere, it just came straight out not curved to the sphere. Maybe I did something wrong but that is the result I got which is why I ended up doing it the way I did. Thanks for your input, help, and for watching my channel.
