This was a quick fix to ensure that we weren't getting exhaust fumes into the engine bay and also that we weren't getting water back into the engine. Upon inspection of the mixing elbow, it appeared that it was in sound condition however, it did not look great. Trying to source a new one and they are about 45 days out and not even in the country and I've been trying to get one custom-made. The turbo and other parts are from another engine that I had at my shop that I took off and reconfigured. Of course the brand new turbo came in today Friday so all of this work could've been done once but I did not want to chance anything going wrong with the engine. I could and have many many times run on one engine without a problem, but if possible, I always like to have two running engines as you can imagine. On all this only took a few hours and it's good safety precaution for weekend charters.
Loved the steady cam with the tripod. Its much more pleasant to watch especially when you're in the scene explaining the steps. I have been a Diesel mechanic for 40 years so my tip to you for removing hoses that get stuck is to use a pic or small pocket screwdriver and with a can of silicon spray work it in a crevice and the hose will release its grip while working the tool back and forth. Yes! i have about 15 hose remover tools that work great! all in the truck and other jobs lol. I did got to the truck and get it. Glad youy like the updated equipment! I will keep trying !

Surprised those turbos lasted as long as they did lol. I think my dad was the last person to have those turbos off approx 15 years ago lol
Why wasthis your dads old boat? the other engine is new. Just installed last year
Great video! I am no expert, but that grafoil gasket material is soft enough that you may need to retorque the elbow to turbo flange after a couple heat/cool cycles. FWIW

Yes good call! and of course new turbo came in the next moring. it got me through the weekend anyway. I sware I am going to do a docking vid this week!!
