  • Today's video is packed full of several goodies. How to master the art of laying sod to assure healthy happy established grass.
    These are the steps for success.
    1. Preparation: Calculate the square feet to order the right amount of sod.
    Clear the Site
    Soil Preparation
    Amend the Soil
    Grade the soil
    2. Laying the Sod
    Start along a straight edge
    Stagger the seams
    Fit the edges
    3. Watering
    Immediate watering is very necessary
    Daily watering for the first two weeks
    Avoid heavy traffic
    Fertilize after 3 to 4 weeks
    Mow after the sod has grown to 3-4 inches
    Keep the sod at a height of 2-3 inches.

    Great video thanks so much. I love a green trimmed lawn along with my birds and butterflies. I’m in zone 4 and are gardeners are beautiful here.

    Hey Kim, I noticed that you have Guara. Does yours self-seed? My wife and I had it in Charleston and swore never again because it spread like crazy. 😩
