It most definitely is an inspiration, no doubt. At the time of the design of Hallgrímskirkja in the late 1930s, the architect Guðjón Samúelsson would undoubtedly have known about the Grundtvig kirke.
Grundtvigs church is a nice church. Fun fact; At the cemetery in front of it, there's always a commotion in spring to go take pictures and selfies there, as they have japanese cherry blossom trees coming alive in that period. N.F.S. Grundtvig plays a major role in developing the kind of danish mentality (lowkey nationalism) that a lot of Danes have today.

@@ErininCopenhagen Yeah I used to live pretty close to the cemetery and walk through every morning and afternoon so I've seen quite a lot of people up there in the spring when the cherry blossom trees come alive. And yeah, can't really understate Grundtvig in how he helped shape the national romantic idea of a certain "danish mindset" or his contribution to the life-long learning idea we see with højskoler today (boarding schools for adults).
