I would be interested in a Lucy Bookclub? I dont know how this would work but i feel it would be so fun if we all would read a certain book and chat about it. Atm i read a lot but have no one i could really talk to

I really hope you see this Lucy! So I just wanted to thank you. You made a comment in one of your previous videos, something about staying out watching you try on clothes precariously above a staircase to talking about books and it made me take note of just how much your content has changed. The funny thing is I didn’t really notice as I had also been going through similar changes in life. Watching your videos make me feel like catching up with a friend. Watching your review of Gilmore Girls And various house renovations videos are a real comfort for me. Keep being your authentic self ❤ so yes, thank you for the years of content.

Sticker residue is also the bane of my existence, but years ago I discovered that Un-Du Adhesive Remover works WONDERS to get rid of that with minimal effort! It's meant for scrapbooking so it doesn't damage the cover.

I had such high expectations for Detransition, baby but I just found it a bit all over the place plot wise. I struggled to follow it to be honest which was so sad because I wanted to love it so much! But loved the characters! I love these videos Lucy! Crying in H Mart made me sob as well. There was a point where I actually had to put it down for the night and come back to it the day after. It was so beautiful and I also highlighted a lot of passages that spoke to me, which isn’t something I generally do! It also made me want to try ALL of the food mentioned!! A beautiful memoir!

I recently read If We Were Villains and I agree wholeheartedly. It was AMAZING! I also wish I had read it sooner! It really was amazing. The Shakespeare quotes were so cleverly inserted. I don't know much about Shakespeare but I do want to read more from him after this book. So good!

Also read this in Oct. I enjoyed. IMO, it was a little like a Hallmark Christmas Movie (cozy holiday romance), making the characters witches and substituting "the magic of christmas" for Halloween, spells, and hexes. It wasn't what I expected but still a good, fun read.

As someone who really did not get on with Detransition, baby , I thought it was so interesting to hear you talk about expectation of what the book would be vs reality. I described it as "it felt like a lot of essays in a book rather than a book itself" so saying it was character driven was something I completely agree with. I wonder if I'd known what it was like before reading it if maybe my review would have been more positive?

If you like Practical Magic, try reading the other three in the series. I read the four in chronological order and fell in total love. Honestly, I don’t buy books anymore in paper, when I got my first iPad in 2012, I started reading on it, because I didn’t need another light source! A while back I found Book Bub. They have a wide selection of books for really good prices. I get an email every morning with choices for me and I have read the most wonderful stories. I love historical fiction, as an art history grad, the more historically, richly woven, the better. I am going to search out your last selection…I love Shakespeare and you make it sound so intriguing. I would recommend the Discovery of Witches trio by Deborah Harkness. It is a lovely series and rampant with 16th century English history. There is also a series starring Teresa Palmer and Matthew Goode (I adore him!)
Love your opinions and can’t wait to read more of your recommendations.😘

Speaking of reading important stories, I'd recommend Kindred by Octavia Butler. It's equal parts historical fiction and sci fi, and follows an African American woman from the 1970s who is somehow transported back to the pre-civil war south. It's really evocative, beautifully written but still very accessible.
I recently read Practical Magic and Mrs England too. I loved the writing in PM but found the middle section a bit slow. Totally agree on Mrs England - started really promisingly, and the setting/atmosphere was there, but the plot never really got going like I wanted it to.

If you want to learn more about the issues faced by the trans and non binary community (and you're up for some non-fiction), I'd recommend The Transgender Issue by Shon Faye, really educational and also quite heartbreaking.
