- A popular cheat developer EngineOwning has been detected yesterday by Ricochet.
In a recent interview with EO we discussed some very important topics.
However, after the interview went public, they were faced with a massive ban wave effecting thousands of accounts.
I want to point out that the interview in no way forced ricochet to detect EO, its more than likely an upcoming ban wave that was rushed out after the interview went live.
So all those people that were banned would have been banned anyway within the upcoming weeks/months.
Meanwhile ArtisWar, a sound simp that alters ingame files and uses shell scripts to cheat, has been caught leaking personal information according to twitter.

The streamer "Slater" is a massive cheater. During his UA-cam livestream, he opened a file called "Cheats, do not open," and ended the stream straight away. After the stream, he deleted all of his livestream videos from UA-cam to clear any evidence. He has started livestreaming on UA-cam again; however, it is clear that he still uses cheats.
I've asked Call of Shame to look in on Slater because I thought he was cheating as well... he actually has funny/ good content.. but to me, it looks like he's using cheats..

Cheat developers and exploit developers better products if they are disclosed or investigated well since it can improve development practices be it system, policy or code. You need to apply the punishment for both cheat dev and cheater if the tools are not open/bounty.

WOW!!!! I watched a German player recently (I don’t speak German but it came up in my feed so I clicked out of curiosity). I instantly noticed that the footstep audio he had was unusually loud - and because of it - no one could get close to him and he had the drop on everyone. It was so clear it was almost like wall hacking without the stick figures. And now this video! I said before, like five years ago, when I first started playing COD, “About 85% of all top players cheat in some way”. I had no idea how right I was…..sad!!!
Ayden made a video on that earlier this year were he went into the game files and changed the footsteps audio you can only do that on pc though!!!

If you alter anything in the files from what I remember cod scans all files then sends back to the system something like that then the persons account is pretty much flagged if not banned if the system detected alterations.

All that dude is doing in powershell is adding loudness equalization back into your windows audio settings. You don't even have to do it if you plug your headphones into the headphone jack on your PC. Sure, it's banned in the CDL, but so is damn near every gun in the game.

I employ audio tuning primarily because Call of Duty's sound design is notoriously bad. As a small game developer, even I ensure better implemented sound than what's found in the Call of Duty sphere

I just Microsoft wireless headphones. Can hear footsteps really well with them. I hear them coming from way away and can tell when they’re getting close

It's been almost unplayable recently but I had 4 "Confirmation of Successful Report" come through altogether on Sunday evening and then Monday played nearly all day and it was great - the odd hacker but not enough you couldn't have an actual fun lobby - so I thought there must have been a ban wave. By Monday evening it was back to being unplayable again and now feels just as bad as ever.

I played call of duty for the first time in a couple months i legitimately ran into 3 hackers all 3 using a diff hack wallhacks for 1, aimbot for another “all headshots from a good distance away he also didn’t miss a shot and i was moving erratically ” and i think someone using a 2d radar (just stood on a hill trained his aim at where i was coming from no uav ) it is crazy it is like i never left

I litterally watched a guy get live banned on rebirth island today May 7th. They are still getting in the game and doing enough to effect the outcome of the game. If they are still allowed/able to get past pre game with cheats and effect the game, then the anticheat still isnt good enough. Because theres nothing stopping them from making new accounts.

I've read people saying things like: "Macros aren't cheating"; "changing the resolution of your game, even if there's nothing in the settings that allows you to do it, to see bigger characters isn't cheating";"any third party program is not cheating";"using REWASD to get aim assist for mouse & keyboard is not cheating".

You can not get banned for editing the config file, most of the options in there are the same as the in-game options.
The file is easily available and in an modifiable format, while it could have been encrypted. Can you show where it says that this is bannable?

This includes, but is not limited to, aimbots, wallhacks, trainers, stats hacks, texture hacks, leaderboard hacks, injectors, input mapping software, or any other software used to deliberately modify game data on disk or in memory. Detection of unauthorized software may also result in the automatic closure of the application.
Claiming it’s the same as in game options is silly…. That is WHY they edit the game files!

@@CallofShame There are more settings than in the game options, yes. But like I said a lot of them are the same, if you change the options in-game the same changes will be made to the config file, which you will obviously not be banned for.
For example in the config file changing [AudioMix:0.0 = "X"] to a number between 0-4 is the same thing as going to the options in-game and changing audio mix to one of the 5 available options.
There are settings that you can't access in the in-game menu, most relate to performance and not to giving you crazy advantages. In one video you claimed Nio was using this for "textures hacks" which is not correct, you can't achieve such an effect by editing this config file. In that video Nio was experiencing a very common texture bug.
Just look at any video where they edit the file and see what it is that they're actually doing.
The key here is *code and/or software not authorized by Activision* The config file is obviously created by and provided by Activision. So I'm guessing the "unauthorized code" would be when you make a change to the document? Even though Activision have chosen to make it readily available in your documents and easily editable, instead of encrypting it and hiding it with the rest of the game files?
Many of the changes that you can make in the document are automatically made when you change options in-game, so that would mean it's ok to go in the document and make some changes, but not some others?
(I doubt it would even be regarded as "code" but rather just settings/values but I'm not a programmer)
Or are you saying that the "unauthorized software" is notepad which is used to make the change?
Countless people are making these changes. I've never heard of anyone getting in trouble for it, streamer or not. Myself included. These config files have been in cod for years.
It seems pretty obvious that when they say *code and/or software not authorized by Activision* this config file is not what they are refering to - they chose to make the file readable and to explain the values and options in it. You will not be banned for it.
