I once played this on solo jazz guitar on the streets of St Pete Florida as as a homeless vet. Guess who showed up? Jeff Goldblume!!! His theme song as Grandmaster in Thor Ragnarok movie. Which I had no clue about at the time
Heck the magic of this film just started for me, sorta by accident with me deciding to watch something fitting for just having moved to a chocolate town and the film "free with ads" on UA-cam. An awesome arrangement of this song and the "Willette Wonka and the Chocolate Factory" saga (my name is Willette) happened with me exploring an abandoned chocolate factory recently.
Hard as it may be to fathom 60 can be young. It all depends, age by no stretch of the imagination is set in stone, one man's 40 can be another man's 100 and one man's 60 can be another man's 50, 40 or even 30. Contrary to popular opinion I think a plant-based diet is the way to go, and the less oil and saturated fat the better. You could live to be 110, 120, 150, if your healthy enough maybe even 200, such people have existed.
@@jamesworley9888 That's is the truth I turned 63 last Jan. but Everyone who see me doesn't believe me when I say my age. They all say I look like I'm in my late 30's or early 40's at the most. I don't even feel like I'm 3 years into my 60's I do feel like I'm in my late 30's early 40's. I can still run a 10 minute mile, I don't get sick and if injured I heal Extremely fast. The Pastor in the church next door always comes to me when he needs someone extremely strong to do things when those there in their 20's & 30's can't. At the rate I'm aging I could wind up living a VERY long time.

The fact this masterpiece was made over 50 years really says something. It’s unbelievable really. I mean there is so much charm to this song alone and the whole movie is incredible. It doesn’t need a sequel. It’s already awesome
It's thanks to Anthony Newley, Leslie Bricusse, and Walter Scharf who were the ones in charge of making the music and lyrics. Unfortunately, all three of men passed, Anthony did first back in 1999, Walter passed away in 2003, and Leslie passed away nearly three months after the Wonka 1971 film was released 50 years back. However, the next anniversary for it, if we ever see and live to that day, will be June 30th, 2071.
I have and still do go to sleep to this every night. It's the most calming song ever. ❤ He was and is the best Willy Wonka. Even though I do like the newest one. Gene Wilder is still Willy Wonka.
My dad told me how magical this film was when he was a kid. And when I watched it when I was young. It was still magical and made me think Tim burtons was not at all as magical and mysterious this movie was
Thank you for your time and effort in putting this together. Your work shows...well done. A beautiful song that touches me deeply. Simply beautiful and a beautiful video.

@@Jason-f1z I get that...Not many are, but again, this was a musical done right...Most musicals, as the director mentioned, would be random people on the street that would just come out singing, and knowing the lyrics right then and there, without any prior knowledge to what the song was about. So this film was basically taking the musical part that was popular in the 1940s, 50s, and 1960s, heck, even Popeye and Annie were both converted into musicals in the late 1970s and early 1980s. Originally the director wasn't going to include musicals into this film, but once he heard "Pure Imagination", he went for it and it worked. But I can see why people went with the 2005 film simply because of "exact translations of the book", which to me it's fine, but it just makes that wonka depressing to go with. Which sucks really, but that's how Roahl Dahl wrote the book as 60 years ago.
well I guess it has been 50 years since the original movie came out it was around that much 1971 my dad was a kid during that time wow but I do I like both the original and the remake as well green wilder was amazing 🤩 and Timothée Chalamet definitely got the role of Willy wonka himself in 2023 of last year.
Anyone notice Wonka’s cane doesn’t make the original “whipping” sound while on the stairs and is silent in this version? Ah, that makes sense, thanks for clarifying. My bad… 🙄
I don't understand why roald dahl didn't like this version.the book wasn't dark, just serious.I read both books. He wasn't as strange as Johnny Depp portrayed him.I've loved this version since 71,when I saw it as an 8yr. old in the theatre when it came out.
Well, if it means anything...I never could get into Dahl's book, despite many tries. Yet the film is darkly-magical, superb, made more so by Gene Wilder. So perhaps the film actually surpasses the book.
Same here. The world is truly not the same place without him. Very few people, celebrity or otherwise, have that effect on me. David Bowie, Brittany Murphy, Treat Williams, Robert Urich & Paul Walker come to mind as others who truly took some earthly Light with them.
They’re both pretty good in their own contexts. I think the 2023 version wouldn’t fit well in the old movie and vice versa. The new one is perfect from the perspective of a young Willy Wonka. The original reflects an older and more mellow Wonka.
Well, given that after a few tries I gave up on Dahl's book.....sadly, yet the film is darkly-magical, superb & has Gene Wilder....perhaps the film surpasses the novel.

This is My Willy Wonka, Depp was creepy, and Chalamet was to tame and mild. Wilder is the perfect amount of fun and craziness.
