How to make a ceramic donut vase🌼pottery at home, no wheel needed ~ beginner's tutorial

A step-by-step guide on how to make a ceramic vase using the coil method. This tutorial is beginner friendly and the perfect DIY project to do at home. No pottery wheel is needed, we will be hand-building.
It will need to be fired if you are not using air-dry clay.
To get your piece fired, simply contact a pottery shop or studio near you to see if they offer fire and glazing services.
If you use air dry clay, please note that it will not be waterproof and so your vase won't be able to hold water. It will be perfect for dried flowers or put a separate container in the vase to hold the water.

Love this and want to try making this week! Very much a beginner, if I were to put this case in a kiln, would the colour change? I love the colour of the final piece in this video and so was wondering what colour clay I would use to achieve a similar colour after going in a kiln? Thank you so much! Can’t wait to try!

Thank you! Hope you enjoy making it! This is white stoneware so it will turn white in the kiln. I haven’t personally come across a clay that will fire to this color but where you buy your clay they should have a color guide to show what the fired clay looks like. Hope this helps!
