Really good video. I like the way you were critical of the shave cream (but loved the razor itself) despite the fact you were sent the products free of charge. Always a pleasure to see an honest review, unvarnished by free stuff - goes to show you're on the side of the people who will be using the products. :)
Yes I normally purchase my products to ensure I keep my integrity. Anyone who offers me product I do warn in advance that I give honest reviews and sometimes advice / feed back on potential improvements. If I say everything is good, that helps no one..
Great video pal 😁 The Defender razor is a very interesting design 👌🏻 I've not used a cartridge razor since getting my Leaf Razor back in December 2019, I fell in love with the Leaf razor after the first shave I had with it and have never looked back since 😁 I don't miss the skin irritation that the cartridge razors used gave me. I know what you mean about prep Chris, as I have some Arko barber shaving soap and it smells devine and lathers well, but like the Defender creme affected your razors performance, the Arko soap seems to do the same with my Leaf razor, so I'd not buy it again because of that 👍🏻 Before that I had some handmade shaving soap and that was amazing, so will probably buy another bar of that once my Arko runs out 😊
I noticed you have a few weepers from this razor after the face shave. Do you think they were from the blade or did you have some skin irritations prior to shaving?
Another good video and looks a decent razor and very stylish too. As you and another viewer say regarding the shave cream, it clogs the razor. I used the harrys shaving cream which came as part of a box set that i got and that was the same! I remember you said about the palmolive shave stick being a favourite which has seemingly been discontinued and the cheapest i could source if for was £12.95 on ebay but a bit pricey so will stick with the gillette shaving gel for now. All the best.

Definitely excited to get one of these handles. The handle of the original I felt was basically it's only flaw. This new one and the options look fantastic. I'll be ordering this afternoon when I get home from work. Thanks for another great video!
Thanks for video, I started shaving head last week. Someone has since told me bout Defender but they have the original 5.95 razor cause this one wasn’t out when they purchased. I checked website and saw this one as well. Didn’t know to spend the extra money or take their word and get what they had. Decisions decisions
I did review the original 4-5 years ago, it's very good and of you shave in the shower might be better there as it is all rubber. If you shave by the sink I would get the metal one as its just cool, and stands up.
I use my current plastic handle in the shower, so my main concern is just if these hold up well to getting really wet. I have had handles before where the metal bit did not take well to being fully wet (ie they were just expecting quick rinse in sink, not extended dousing in shower). Can you comment on how it's held up over time?
I’ve been using the Gillette Skinguard on a flex ball handle ever since I started shaving my head. How would you say the defender compares to the skinguard? Do you prefer one over the other?
I like the new defender hand and base system for sure. But what you are doing with the pivoting head on the handle and the skin guard would be one of my favorite combos currently available. I recon what will come out and may top it is a Gillette Lads cartridge in the style of the skin guard to use on the Labs exfoliating handle. That would be better still, but they would charge more for sure

I had heard from another review that you can get roughly 12 quality head shaves from the defender where as I can only get about 6 from the skinguard. Has this been your experience? Do you miss the “flex ball” when using non Gillette razors?

If I shave too regularly I get them sometimes. They never hurt, I just have thin skin.

It's not the lightest razor, but I did expect it to weigh more. I am REALLY liking it for the head shaves
