If a variant of the #5 code is used in the Japanese version, it might allow you to auto-complete the level. For the #1 code, you could hold the controller upside-down for an additional layer of challenge.
I wouldn't be surprised if the crazy flashing in Fire Man's stage using OIIIYV is a consequence of how the game handles the animated fire effects in the stage (needing to change palettes on the fly and such to properly do the animation).
Yeah the problem with the color palette swap is the warm to cold colors over lapping that is the trigger for sensitive people especially if they swap really fast.

Ooof that code saved me from resetting my game from PAZOOA. Apparently PAZOOA triggers the ladder glitch that can be used in Elecman's Stage to get the Magnetic Beam. Second edit: I used PAZOOA on Elecman's Stage, on the ladder below the MB and I got immediately where the item is by simply going up. Then used TOPIPY to die instantly. Interesting.

It's great, you should check it out. YOU SHOULD ALL CHECK IT OUT. But she did some of the music on 2 and none of it's anything less than amazing.
