I just came from my NCL 10 days England/Ireland trip. I love this city! When the ship was leaving the pipers came to play as the ship departed. It move me to tears.
We fell in love with the Highlands. Everything - the beauty, the people, even the food - sold us on coming back. We had pipers on our Greenock port and it was quite wonderful!
No idea why I'm watching this but your videos are very engaging, very well edited. Invergordon itself ain't much of a burg, as you say it functions as a port not a destination in of itself. If you can get across to the opposite shore, and I think there's a ferry in Summer you can visit Cromarty, and if Olde Worlde is your thing, definitely worth a visit.
Wow! Thanks so much! Olde Worlde is definitely my thing so I'm definitely gonna take note of your suggestion, sir. For next time.
🎉🎉🎉 Beautiful.. Beautiful Highlands❤❤❤
Yes they are!
The information will be very useful to me this July 2024 as my granddaughter and I are cruising and this port is one of our stops. Thank you
Quite welcome. It's a great port!
I was there 5 months ago and loved every minute of it. McRae's was a great little shop for tourists, and I ate the best sausage roll nearby at Harry Gow's (pronounced heddy gow). Aon de na h-àiteachan as fheàrr leam air an talamh - gu ruige seo - pardon my rusty Scottish Gaelic (pronounced gal lig)
Thanks for the heads up on these places. We definitely want to come back and explore more. More notes for our next trip! Thanks. Too bad i dont speak Gaelic...what did you say?
@@ThePortLowdown Just that it was one of my favorite places that I've ever been. I've been all over, and the place just hit me a certain way.
From the highlands yes it is, for the most part beautiful, invergordon? The place is shocking, i lived there for a couple of years. This video is doing it justice 😂😂😂
Well, we hope come back and use the train, going DIY.
On that note, do you have any recommendations from your time there?
@@ThePortLowdown not particularly. I worked in the marine Hotel. Friendly staff, used to be good pub food plenty of it at good prices. The hotel used to be used mainly by offshore workers.
Alnes (one mile away) is quite a nice little town, has some interesting history. The station hotel (worked there also!) Was excellent for a drink and great food.
I spent almost five years working and living as a chef in Inverness. I love the place. Worked in many restaurants and hotels there and know the place very well.
If you're visiting there of any other area in the Highlands can also recommend places to visit or stay.
Just message back.
Will do. Inverness was a place we remember wanting to explore more. Highlands too.
Great video! Which month?
Thanks! It was June. Quite lovely.
what was the name of this tour please?
Hello!
We booked through Thistle Excursions. Here's the link:

Best to you!
I literally live there so I’ve no idea why I’m watching it, decent video tho but your pronunciation upsets me😂
I know. I'm probably butchering my pronunciation, so sorry about that. Sometimes I look it up online before recording narration, but even that could be wrong. 🙄
Maybe next time I'll have a local on camera correcting me. That would be kinda funny. Anyway, all the best to you and my apologies!
@@ThePortLowdownah ye no I get it don’t worry about it man I’m joking anyway, would be funny though
