I am very much enjoying the solo experience. Just pairs or singles cooperating to grow their current favourite creatures, no fear of revenge kills, grouped scouts pinpointing your location on the map, or swap teams, and the chat is mostly quiet or decent enough. It's refreshing.
This is why solo queue is pretty good in my opinion. While far from being perfect. It makes life for solo players so much better. Due to such heavy restrictions discord groups have a harder time and no Dino swapping means you can play in peace and quiet and you die far less often than on standard official servers
exactly. I actually managed to relax a bit. Like the fight against pycno and a metri would have definitely ended on me dying had they been able to group. You find more juvis, people are more around the map, everything just feels generally more balanced. Way less toxicity, way less revenge killing. Over all great option and I am so happy the devs went ahead with this.
Great video, Nars! I’ve really been enjoying the solo matchmaking, as well. I’ve seen 2 giant discord packs but it’s not as rampant as I thought it would be. The number of proper 1v1’s and wholesome interactions I’ve gotten to have is amazing. Kind of stinks that you have to delete your dino if you want to play a different one, but I decided to turn it into “if I die, I delete” kind of playthroughs 😆
I didn't encounter any discord groups when I was on luckily. This was all recorded in one go so I guess I got lucky lol. I do understand why we can only make one creature at a time. It sucks, but if it helps keep the game more sane then I'm all for it. Really enjoyed my time on the solo server. It was nice. Thank you
Also been growing a Allo in the Solo server. As a chronic Solo player on Officials and despite the mode having issues I feel like it's a generally good thing to have
1:19 They're not meant to completely stop people from grouping. They're only meant to reduce the issue, Matt said they ain't gonna stop free will as that's self destruction for the game

I have been really enjoying the solo server testing they are doing. Altough beign a european player kinda sucks since all the servers are hosted in NA, so i've had plenty of moments where the latency fucked me over. I hope they release them officially soon, so there will be no problems for EU players.
I was so suspicious of solo Q at the beginning but ive been playing it for a while now and actually LOVE it. No WS means im bumping into people a lot in other areas and not just GP. im usually a solo player too so im happy im having more fun now
Its not intended to be fool proof. It's just supposed to make it harder. Maybe someday the game will be populated enough to just not allow being in a friends lobby. Of course people would work around by removing people, but adding another step will help either way 🎉
I totally agree! I think it's unrealistic to assume it's going to ever be perfect, but this, this is heaps better than not having it. And I am very very very happy that the devs gave us this. I don't ask them to be perfect, I don't need them to know all the answers, they are just humans. All I want from them is that they try. And this shows that they truly are trying, and I respect it! ^_^

try turning your audio up and music down. Helps you to hear things around better. Also maybe areas of thick vegetation will help you to get away from things. Keep switching areas etc. I'm sorry to hear it's been rough.
You can do what ever you please. The game just doesn't support it. You can only make one character. You cannot make a group or nest etc. Waystones are disabled. This means that big groups have harder time playing on these servers, and solo player has easier time.
