Is there any vertical movement, or does it move strictly horizontally? The reason I ask is the Stella emulator won't let you use two mice, but it can use the horizontal axis for one player and the vertical axis for the other. So you could make two spinners, with the board mounted to read horizontally for one player and mounted to read vertically for the other player. However that only works if each one registers strict 1-axis movement. Any variation and it would interfere with the other player. I've been planning to built my own case and wheel for a similar setup. If I can't get strict horizontal movement by mounting the sensor to read the surface of the wheel, I was thinking I could make the wheel thicker and mount the board vertically so that it reads the edge of the wheel. Unfortunately, that would require a deeper case.
Hey Pirate, I want to replace the joystick in my Pandora's box for an Ikari Warrior style rotating joystick. Do you have a link to someone that has an exact drop in assembly so I can play those types of "move and twist" games? Also can you make a simple video on how to install the 12 way rotary joystick? Thanks man.
Hello, really fantastic work, congratulations. I wanted to know, if possible, if you could sell me the Atari 2600 Paddles in USB version, so I can finally use them on my computer, on my Mac. P.s. I live in Italy :)
is there a way with the paddle to have it move freely with no stopping like it does? I know the atari indy paddles move all the way around, but the normal pong paddles stop spinning after like a revolution and a half
The pong paddles I'm using in this video rotates completely around without stopping. The reason why is because the stopping mechanism was removed when creating this spinner.
Not sure I can find a solution for you on this request. Alex Nostalgix might be able to assist. Check out his channel and shoot him a message. ua-cam.com/channels/hXa1coCGkJsFTChIg9K0Mw.html
Assuming you already have a cheap optical mouse, you can find the pong game on ebay for like $9 so he's not far off cost wise but if you had to buy every last piece, you'd be looking at or around $15 - $20. a better title would have been how to build a spinner for less then $20.
ur doing gods work with this and your other works
Enjoyed the video, and loved the background music.
Just found your channel. Pretty cool. I got an itch to play some tempest.
Dude u are the Mcgivor of mame 👍🏼
Not a bad idea. Can you make the button work, too? Furthermore, does anyone still sell those AtGames Blast products?
Wow!!! Incredible!
Pong joystick on eBay?
Are you selling these? I would like to buy one already made. How much? Thanks
Could the mouse wheel be modified somehow when no paddles are available ?
What are the dimensions of the round flat plastic piece you sanded down and used for the spinner?
About 1inch
do you think this would work with any setup? I was thinking about using a hard drive plate and bearing to make a spinner
will this also work on a wireless mouse? can i use the buttons on the mouse to fire it? on spinner only want to use it on my at mini contoler
also wondering can i use an old attari controle to make it wireless?
Great work! - mine was much more expensive (using a custom made USB spinner). What's the game you're playing around 5 minutes in?
The racing game I'm playing? I'm not sure.. lol I randomly picked it from my list of games.
:) - but it's using the spinner, right? - I'm looking for spinner compatible games for my own spinner: ua-cam.com/video/zFyiGQ_PoY8/v-deo.html

@@ArcadePirate It's just a piece of plastic in the AtGames Pong paddle. Snip that off and you're off to the races.

what game is that on 5:15?
LOL, seriously? That's Atari Tempest.
How is this only $10?

It's not. Clickbait.
Got to love White people...Thank you for this video!
What a load of rubbish. Just buy a spinner.
