there was a bug around 2017 involving splitting troops cloning twice. This is NOT the same bug mentioned in the video. This bug primarily worked with lava hound, as golem didn't really find much use in it, but it involved cloning the lava hound JUST before it was about to die, creating a clone of the lava hound AND its pups. This would result in a lot of pups on the tower tanking for the new cloned lava hound. Basically, it gave you 2 clones for the price of one. As a side note, I believe the arrow rework killed clone. Allowing arrows to volley in a burst of 3 made it so a lot of the popular clone decks just get shut down. This is probably why supercell put such an awkward amount of time between phases for the suspicious bush, so that cards like the log and arrows don't double dip in value. I wonder if this would be a good approach to take for lava hound and golem...
I've been playing since global launch, no breaks. I absolutely do NOT remember there being a Clone Spell Challenge. The first new card challenge ever was for Ewiz after the Dec. 2016 update.
This reminds me of a time where supercell put time and effort into adding new cards. Now they’re all goblin, purple evolutions or sound like lightning.
Clone should get the same treatment as rage: Do damage after the animation kick in, maybe more than rage since it has less range and more elixir, maybe enough to kill goblins. Imo with this it can actually be decent

Maybe like give it a evo Personally my idea is to like give the cloned troops 40% of the original full hp of the respective troop It will be like weak on small troops like Archer but great on troops like pekka or a golem If that's too op maybe they can reduce it to 30% or 25% but it still be great.
I'd love to see a 1 or 2 elixir clone - only lets you copy a single unit and has a small radius. Multiple units over the spot clones the highest cost unit in the radius
i just realized how insane mirror evolution is gonna be the fact that its cost changes elixir means its gonna be difficult for supercell to pick a good cycle number. for example: if it was a two cycle evolution, you could mirror two fire spirits to get to the evo, then use the evo on a pekka or something
i played almost exclusively with clone and skeleton giant for the entire time i played clash. it definitely felt very high skill for not that much value, but clone pushing, early cloning to destroy counters with the weak giant, using the clone to delay to counter having a giant baited around the map... not good... but it was fun. and when it did work... damn would the screen shake

Giant skeleton, archers, zappies, healer, elective card, arrows, Clone, firecracker/ice wizard. Deliver the payload deck. Been using a variation of this since 2017. Obviously changing over time. That elective card most usefulky ice spirit but anything under 7 elixer works. That helps your weakness. Rage also helps cuz healer on rage is crazy. Her and archers alone uncontested can defeat a tower with a rage spell
The biggest problem with clone is that, it is too expensive for the deck where it would work (golem, balloon, skeleton barrel, etc) But reducing it's cost will make it wayy too op for deck that it is not supposed to even be in. Clone is in a spot where it needs buff, but buffing it would break the game
I like clone, do the right cards and it's great, clone, cannon cart, skeleton barrel, and dark prince in 1 deck is pretty great, clone cannon cart connecting with something in frost is good value too as it needs 2 hits still
Nerfing it so that clones can’t be cloned was what killed it imo. What killed mirror was removing the +2 modifier. Watch them add the clone spirit and mirror spirit, lol

Clone pushes your troop forward Suppose we clone megaknight and wiz it's literally unstoppable I also use freeze with it Literally any midladder deck cloned is too overpowered even if it's 1 hp
As someone that used clone as there main deck and pushed to top ladder and ultimate champions with clone shield... yeah, it do need a buff and a evo, tho the buff is just make the cloned version to be 2 levels higher than the original/clone does more damage, but overall that's the best buff you can get for it, the other is iffy but, lower the cost to 2 elixir... for the evo..... idk really, maybe makes the clones have invincibility for 5 seconds?
This is in my joke deck of worst cards ever: archers, clone, mirror, heal spirit, skeletons, giant snowball, goblin curse, elixir pump. Even when elixir pump works, if you were going to lose from not being able to supply enough elixir it wouldn't help much anyway because it's 6 less elixir of benefit.
i only used clone for golem so i could burst death damage a tower. Its just too easy to counter sincenthwy changed arrows and everyone runs log which multihits like arrows. clone is genuinely the only card i say would be sasly deserving of a negative usage rate which isnt possoble, but if it was...
Id like to claim credit for being the first to start the skeleton bomb decks that everyone started copying. I made that deck the second thry introduced me to clone spells i knew the death bomb would be crazy to duplicate even if it didn't rech their tower. My combos were skeleton army and witch with him, save witch when you are sure they don't have any spells left or deploy backup splash damage. Witch clone can spawn skeletons aswell so you would have two bombers, two witches and multiple skeletons spawning for a awesome push. My deck was not to shabby early game against most people but it was late game that i was 98% guaranteed victory because when spammed you can only delay the end.

What if clone was not only able to be used in the field, but on cards in your hand? Think about it. If you drag the clone spell onto a spell, it would cast the same spell twice or immediately clone whatever card you place if you modified or enchanted it. Maybe the effects would be dulled down, but it would be a cool way to give it more synergies.

Your argument is flawed. Try fighting someone without using any spells and see how broken clone is. The real problem with this game are all the spells. I refuse to play spells out of principle.

I'm a g skeleton main where I use clone as one of my spells (I play spell bait mainly in a much higher strategy deck)

About cloning champions, you can clone a spawned Guardianne and a Skeleton King that has activated the ability, but that's it

I just started playing with clone and I’m noticing that it frequently fails to clone. Troops do the animation but then no clone spawns. Not cool
