On the contrary of this video, One of the best reworks I've ever seen was the rg rework. A card that was hated from the very beginning that became a mid ladder menace. When the changes were first announced. Everyone was terrified because of the damage increase but I remember being excited. When they went live. I rarely saw anyone complain anymore.
This is probably my contender for the best balance change in CR history. The fact that they managed to take a card so oppressive in midladder and so useless at top level and rework it in such a way that it was balanced in both areas while also being less frustrating to fight was impressive. The fact that it didn't require any further changes on top of that for years is nothing short of incredible. The balance team cooked with that rework.

when the witch had her splash and first skeletons removed its not just that she was now bad, she was a completely different card. some of us liked the witch, and now she filled a completely different purpose to what we were using it for
The nerf was definitely necessary. It being too strong on release had nothing to do with a balance change, it was just the way the card was released. So I really don't know what you're talking about. Granted the nerf was a little harsh, but it definitely needed one.

I think goblin machine was just a funny event card concept that they managed to remove after release. The idea is literally a knight throwing rockets, which is completely stupid. The 3 cards from that season were probably meant to be removed at first, but they changed their mind so they nerfed the least serious ideas to the ground (counting goblin curse)
Oh my god I will never fucking forget how they nerf the hell out of the Giant Skeleton death bomb was such a hard nerf to the card. He didnt need that type of nerf. Or all the times they kept nerfing the Barbarian Hut over and over and over WHEN IT DIDNT EVEN NEED A NERF. Yet they buff cards like Prince, Valk or give Firecracker a evo while she was annoying as hell and barely ever nerfing Hog Rider, Megaknight and Log.

1:19 um Seth,how are we supposed to protect spawners from a spell (earthquake) that even Monk can't repel? Of course we would put at the middle area since otherwise spells and some troops can just do collateral damage on the tower while dealing with the building. Buildings that generate value over time and not for wall purposes just have to go there by default since the area where you can put stuff is small in this game
The knight should be the next card that you make a video for. It's had 19 balance changes (including the evolution) and it's been a tough card to balance
Ngl...being on a balance team, especially on multiplayer games, must be exhausting, balancing for different skill levels is hard and ontop of that your social media is probably filled with some nasty stuff from people complaining (probably some death threats too)

I'd like to mention the Phoenix nerf given how dominant is was alongside Monk for awhile. Not only was the HP for the egg reduced, but I think the Phoenix itself even had an HP reduction among other changes
sc devs being salty midladder players is the best explanation as to the majority of balance changes. that or they get all of their feedback from reddit. which would be worse imo since they are listening to the type of people who go online whilst on the toilet right after losing a match just to cry about how "broken" a card is on their poop game.
When you are developing a game you need to cater both competitive and casual sides of it. Making it too competitive will kick away the bulk of the playerbase that is in the midladder. Another problem is that most of the testing is done in a vacuum, like in a vacuum the giant skeleton, barb hut and executioner are really good with those balance changes, but in a real game they suck as opponents have an easier time countering them.
Gratz, please make more “state of the game” videos, similar to what you made during the update for losers and level 15 update. I personally am interested in your thoughts
Offense over defense in the meta is very justified, era of ties in Clash Royale was a pure disaster with the amount of defense that was thrown out of nowhere, especially in challenges. So some balances to spawners were explainable to knock them out to prevent the boring meta (which also is a factor towards the enjoyment of the game), but man, Furnace and Barbarian Hut were gutted too hard.
What if the barbarian hut was reworked to become like the goblin cage instead of a spawner. Reduced cost to 4 elixir, and spawns 3 barbarians when hp runs out. That way it can be a better distraction for troops than goblin cage, but exerts less offensive pressure.
I don’t think it’d be good plus the idea is kinda already done. I say they should just delete the card honestly. I actually like an idea of a barbarian launcher better. Since they wanna make the meta more offensive. A launcher that shoots troops during a push would be insanely good. Maybe not for goblins but definitely for barbarians
Gotta give Witch credit because despite the 2019 rework being awful She still got a downright improved skeleton spawn. It somehow works better than her original spawn because of the disjoint’s resistance to splash
I am surprised dagger duchess, little prince and void nerfs are not in the list. They all got nerfed on there main thing. Little prince barely knocks back anything with his ability for exmaple if a hog rider is connected to the tower if you used little prince ability it will knock him slightly but it will still hit the tower, dagger duches now is just a princess tower that runs out of aimmo , void they completely removed its ability to kill medium health trooos
New card idea: 2 elixir wall with a very quick 6-8 second life time BUT it has a massive amount of hit points. Basically functions like an ice golem but more of a temporary immovable object

To be fair, it's good to shake the game and meta up sometimes. So I personally think it's more fun sometimes they go overboard and the whole meta changes instead of very tiny nerfs/buffs overtime.
Mighty Miner did not even need that buff. All he needed is simply a meta where Monk, his best counter and competitor, would be unviable. And guess what, with that Elixir cost increase, this would have happened anyways.
